Re Mamadou: I wouldn't expect any kid that age and size to have any coordination and voila! there he is. Take a look at his body though. I'd sure pay attention to him. Hey, Manute Bol had a career and was a walking spear. I'd like to see him at age 25 when he's grown a little. The pink sneakers have to do with breast cancer awareness.

Raise awareness for breast cancer?!

We have an AFL team in Australia who has an annual breast cancer awareness games to raise funds for breast cancer charity and they play in pink jumpers even though its not their club color (predominantly navy with a red demon).

Maybe its the same sort of thing?!

Good guess. There never has been anyone that tall. In what I have read he's about the same height as Mamadou which is tall enough.

As Gilles said, how didn't he even win the opening tip? Quite funny.

Who knows how good this kid can be. Cousins didn't start playing ball until high school, and neither did Amare, if my memory is correct. But neither did Thabeet, lol.

Aside from that though, this is what's wrong with American sports compared to everywhere else. This kid is completely wasting his time practicing and playing at this level. It'd be like gold medal winning Shawn Johnson, instead of Olympic training each day instead focusing on her gymnastics through her high school P.E. program, or Nadal instead of training as a tennis pro at age 15, sticking to the intramural program at his local school.

Just like soccer, tennis, gymnastics, golf, young actors/actresses/musicians, he's wasting his time in high school. Go get some real coaching, play against guys at least at tall as your nipples, and bring a freaking tutor with you. But, it's America and our crumbling education system should take priority when a one on one tutor could actually be more beneficial.
