The Rest of December W-L Prediction

#1
Usually after December is when you can see who is a championship caliber team and who is playoff bound.

Right now, it looks as if we are headed to the playoffs but lets see what everyone thinks about finishing December:

Dec. 14 at Milwaukee (W)
Dec. 16 Lakers (W)
Dec. 19 New-Orleans (W)
Dec. 21 Washington (W)
Dec. 23 Heat (W)
Dec. 26 Warriors (W)
Dec. 31 at Utah (W)

-Milwaukee will play tough but we will win there after our long rest period.
-Lakers wont stand a chance especially at Arco. Will be a close game but we win.
-New-Orleans will be a tough game :), Easy win.
-Washington is one of the tough ones if they keep playing like they are playing.
-Heat is the other tough one if they continue to play well.
-Warriors always play us tough and I think theve had our number the past few seasons.
-Utah is the last tough one. Slump lately but they have the power to win.

I see us going 7-0 and possible dropping one to Washington or Miami.

What do you think?

Washington is getting spanked by Miami. Dont even think they put up 40 in the first half but im not sure.

So maybe our biggest fear is Miami because Utah hasnt been doing well with AK-47 and Boozer was in a slump.

I wouldn't go that far as saying 7-0, I hope so but the Heat, Lakers and then factor in a possible let down against an easy team like NO...

We are certainly capable of going 7-0 for the rest of December. I would be very happy with 5-2 (which would make us a fantastic 10-3 for the month).

Most likely scenario: 6-1 ( a phenominal 11-2 for Dec. after a slow start in Nov.) I would guess our only 2 losses in Dec are against Minny and Miami.

It will be much harder to beat Bucks tomorow than to beat Miami at home

Actually, I looked long and hard at the Bucks game. They are the reason I said I would be happy going 5-2 the rest of the way. I still think we can go 7-0 though. We have the talent. Now, if we just have the intensity (and Pedja is able to play at a high level).

We need to beat Miami good to have people look at us as real contenders. We cant fall to Minny twice and to Miami and be expected to win. We need to start beating some top teams.

I think if we can beat Miami, Mil, and Utah decently (8+ pts) then we will be good

The night Shaq just had tonight  is why Miami will scare us.

I hear ya, Bib. However, I am not near as concerned with "beating some top teams" in Nov and Dec as I am with peaking later in the season and beating up on them then. And, I don't really care if people look at us right now as a real contender. I would rather other teams think we are not, so we can sneak up on them and CRUSH them in Mar and Apr. :p

It'd be nice if they did go 7-0 ... but;

Dec. 14 at Milwaukee (W)
Dec. 16 Lakers (L)
Dec. 19 New Orleans (W)
Dec. 21 Washington (L)
Dec. 23 Heat (L)
Dec. 26 Warriors (W)
Dec. 31 at Utah (W)

bold = home

So, what You are basically saying is that Kings will go 2-3 on the 5 games HOMESTAND.

I don't think so

I was just looking at the same thing. Kings 2-3 at home? And, 2 of those predicted losses against Eastern teams at ARCO. Nah!!!

Sorry but I don't think beating Miami will really make much of a difference. They keep winnning against the eastern conference teams and haven't proven squat against the good teams. We are already considered contenders imo but beating teams like the Wolves and the Spurs just stengthens our case.

You made a slight error. The road games are Milwaukee and Utah. The rest - Dec. 16, 19, 21, 23 and 26 - are all home games. You might want to re-evaluate your predictions. As others have pointed out, I seriously doubt if the Kings are going to go 2-3 at Arco in the next 5 games.

I Had a Sneakin' Suspicion I'd Get Some Flak ....

You see ... Mr. Napear predicted the Kings would go 7-0 the rest of December (which I'm thinkin' started this thread).

In my opinion .... how many times has Napear (when making sports predictions and their outcomes) been correct about anything ??? He's lucky if het gets it right 15-25% of the time.

I'm basically going against the roller here .. $20.00 on the NO COME

But, it's a prediction ... I hope I'm wrong (Hey VF21, any bonus points in this thread ???)

BTW - I bolded the entire lines for games vs the Bucks & Jazz (away games)
I bolded the W's & L's for clarification ... didn't mean to throw anybody

probably not 2-3 @ home for the month remainder. I just can't let myself concede a loss ever to those damned Lakers. Miami will be hard, haven't heard yet how bad Wade's ankle is .......... Wizzards are sneaky good.

Not to get too far ahead (again), we best get way up on the W-L, unless PHX catches an iceberg (tho the 4 seed wouldn't be a bad place). The FEB '05 schedule is brutal.

Okay ... I might change to 3-2 @Home .....

I feel the same way ... the Wiz are "sneaky good" .... still w/Washington
We DO NOT have an answer for Shaq-Daddy ... still w/Miami

The game that I would reconsider is vs LA ... only because I hate 'em

6-1 looks about right. Maybe 5-2. Washington might be the most dangerous of those teams for us just due to their athleticism. Anyway, figure maybe we drop one of the ones vs. the Lakers, Wash or Miami, although the Heat really aren't that good. Bottomline: plenty of places to stumble, but we'll be favored in every game.
