The Nico “Mad Genius” Harrison Thread

I think Mavs fans would have been much happier if the letter was a scorched earth cathartic moment on the corpse of Nico Harrison.

Instead it was just the usual “We’ll be better for you!” nonsense.

“Our roster is committed to winning!”

That commitment has led them to having the same record as the Kings.

While I agree with the idea that them having Cooper Flagg puts them ahead of the Kings in the rebuild hierarchy, it feels like there’s a chance the poor guy’s confidence has been shot by Jason Kidd horribly misusing him thus far in his career. Also the Mavs don’t really control any of their own picks in a way that they can actually use until 2031

But he still dunked over Giannis.

It's probably smart to get out ahead of a questionable GM sticking around long enough for the team to turn things around and then being stuck with the guy long term just because of a star player. Also if they want to get off either AD or Kyrie don't let a guy you are going to fire make the trade, even if they do it at owner's behest. Question is who is out there that is an obvious sure thing to get it right. I'm going to assume they can't poach a top GM so will be looking at the best assistants.

“Nico Harrison placed Jrue Holiday in the same talent tier as Nikola Jokic in an internal evaluation document, according to a team source”

So there may have been some signs?

I'm guessing the internal document had whiskey glass stains on a few pages
