Who actually thinks Jeff Curran lost his fight?!
I can't see how he didn't win 29-28 across.

I thought the Mizugaki won round one...

But then, round two...Mizugaki took Curran down, and Curran controlled the HELL out of him from the ground. He tried a few guillotines, and didn't let Miz get any offense in.
I realy can't see someone who gets ZERO offense in from the top winning a fight.
Sadly the fight scorers, as pointed out by Frank Mir, think on top = POINTS~!

Round three = Currans Leg Triangle.
If any judge gave this round to Miz, their license needs to be revoked. Much like the last round, Curran aloud ZERO offense from the top, and caught Miz in a VICIOUS triangle choke, which even transitioned to evil ground and pound for a few.
Honestly, had this choke been locked in 10 seconds earlier, this fight was probably over...
Easy round for Curran..

This sucked the MMA momentum out of me and made the main event less shocking to me, because I was still pissed over this injustice.

Man, I wish Carano/Cyborg went another 4 rounds...

Not only did Carano look beyond cute, but that was some wild fighting. I should be happy that it went as long as it did, because I thought Cyborg had the heel hook and kimura in TIGHT. I don't know how Carano got out of those.

Beyond my bias to Carano because of her looks, she was outclassed. She got in some shots, but once she gave up her mount...It was done.

Fun FAST paced fight!

I am glad Carano didn't get her pretty face bashed in, had it gone another round or two it would have. I am not sure why she gave up the full mount when she had it, she was getting out classed all around.

I enjoyed seeing Babalu get ktfo as well.

I couldn't resist watching UFC 100 on Spike (Bisping getting his clock cleaned will never get old) so I DVR'd the Strikeforce, and lucky for me all the fights went quick and I could finish it tonight :)

I saw that earlier today. That's a pretty impressive list of not so great movies he's been in too.

Please un-retire if that's what its gonna come down to.

In their infinite wisdom the UFC has blacked Portland out tonight due to poor ticket sales. I tried to buy tickets two months ago and Stub Hub and other sites had purchased all the cheap seats and doubled their price. $100 to sit in the third bowl? No thanks. A real shame because Portland is a great MMA town but we don't have that kind of money to throw around especially with unemployment what it is around here.

I don't think he's going to ruin the UFC because there are plenty of venues that will pony up the big bucks for the tickets. You figure once NYC gets approved as a venue they will just bounce between Vegas, NY, Europe and maybe LA or another huge market and have no use for the small venues except for the crappy cards with local headliners.

On the plus side Dana really wants to get some marquee fights on network tv and that would be huge. BJ/Diaz is the current rumor. Also it seems he has a bug up his butt about Showtime so maybe he has something brewing with HBO.

Nogueira vs. Couture

Eventhough Randy Couture lost the match, I have nothing but tons of respect for the man. At age 46 he went toe to toe with a man more than a decade younger than himself and where other MMA fighters surely subtmitted, he fought on and actually escaped from one of the best submission specialists in the history of MMA.

Minotauro is back on top of his game and I hope he continues on this path so that one day he can kick Lesnar's ***.

I'm not convinced Carwin is going to be a walk in the park for Lesnar. But Nog/Lesnar sure got a hell of a lot more appealing. They'd probably have Nog take one more fight before Lesnar though and make that the #1 contender for the Carwin/Lesnar winner. Not sure who is worthy for that unless they are ready to step Cain up and Nog is a bad match for him.

That cut on TUF last night was sick. I have probably seen worse cuts but never had the pleasure of seeing them worked on post fight.

Oh good, won't have to wait long to find out if the rumors are true.

I thought I had this on series record but I guess not as I didn't see it this week. Anyone know when this weeks episode replays?

The rumors were extremely exaggerated but the result was no surprise. Perhaps the surprise was how full of himself Roy Nelson was afterwards. He was like a boring, extremely poor man's Brock without any of the allure or star power.

Pretty unimpressive fight all around. Had Kimbo been able to keep Roy on his feet I'm sure he would have knocked his a** out. The sad thing was that Roy's punches to the top of Kimbos head were weak. On the other hand, Kimbo had no chance of getting out from under that guy so I guess the ref has to stop the fight. I was just hoping for a little more stand up fighting, but I'm not too surprised at how fast Roy went to the ground.

I'm no Kimbo fan, but I was impressed with his attitude and how he's approaching everything. I hope he has another chance to fight. I'm sure from a ratings standpoint it's in White's best interest to get him in there again so we will see.

Kimbo seems like a decent guy and at least from the clips they showed he was working hard and taking things seriously. What I don't understand is that its been at least 2 years since his Elite XC debut and he doesn't seem to have any kind of ground plan. Maybe Roy had more skills than were evident from the fight, we shall see.

Kimbo is not and never was an MMA fighter... he was a street fighter, and is pretty old too. His lack of ground game is a bit surprising, but not shocking. I'd be pretty surprised if there is too many MMA fans who want to see this guy again. He's only entertaining if he can stand toe to toe and punch with someone. Otherwise, he's just a rookie. If White wants ratings, put him with Lesnar.

Ok, I'm biased because I am a Hendo fan, but I think its BS that they sell Hendo/Bisping as a middleweight eliminator and then bring Belfort in and give him a shot after one fight. It seems that Silva does not want to fight him for some reason because immediately after UFC 100 Silva starts talking about changing weight classes or wanting out of his contract, then he's hurt and needs to be shelved for 6 months, now he can fight Belfort to kick off the new year?

Oprostaj, I agree that Kimbo is not a real MMA fighter but a funny thing happened on the way to wanting to see him fail miserably... he actually became likeable. Does he belong in the UFC, no, but with good matchmaking there could be exciting fights for him. Lesnar is NOT one of them.

Oh I know he's not a good match. Lesnar is one of the better wrestlers out there. However, I WOULD watch that fight. Again, ratings. When Slice first entered MMA, i was hopeful. After Seth proved that Kimbo has a glass chin, it just reafirmed my suspicion that this guy was fighting bums off the street.

It take a LONG time for guys to develop a ground game - years. It's a shame though, Kimbo's the textbook example of why we need characters in Boxing/MMA. Watching Kimbo is like watching Arvydas Sabonis in Portland. You can't help but to think "damn, I wish I would have seen him in his prime"

From listening to Kimbo in last night's show it sure sounds like whoever he had been training with up until now had no clue. Its really odd that when Showtime/Elite sunk everything they had into him they couldn't find a quality camp for him to train with but I guess they figured they would throw has beens and cupcakes at him instead.

The amount of hype around him, especially considering how much Dana trashed him in the past, is a bit sickening (how much of last night's show was spent recapping?) but I have to say I'm rooting for him to get another shot.

Yeah, but you can't blame them? The Nelson-Slice fight drew the highest rating of any MMA cable event EVER. 6.1 Million people watched. It was the highest rated original SPIKE T.V. program in Spike history. Not to mention it was the highest rated UFC event since UFC 75. Fans LOVE Kimbo and I'm with you, I think people generally want to see him do well.

I didn't see the entire episode 4, but from what I saw, it looks like Kimbo has the fire back. Maybe he needed to get his *** kicked so he could be the underdog again. Who knows. I hope he comes back.

Fans don't LOVE Kimbo. He is a phenomenon, something that doesn't happen that often, that comes out of nowhere. People heard of him, youtubed him and he was the next big thing. Why I wasn't a big fan is because this guy was given so much right off the bat. He was signed and already was headlining - WTF?? He was not an MMA fighter. He was a street brawler, and not a very good one at that. Look at the youtube clips. The guys he is fighting are a joke, and not a very funny one at that. Kimbo is built like a Mack truck, a solid mass of muscle. But, he has been in MMA for 2 years, getting professional training, yet he still has no idea what to do when taken to the ground. I'm sorry, I've been around martial arts for 5 years now, and wrestling for 8. Kimbo is a fraud, and not a figther. He's a spectacle, a show that Dana White was able to goad the "fans" to shell out big bucks to watch. People will watch the next big thing, they want the "oooh" and the "ahhh", they want KOs and they like big names. Kimbo is a product of marketing, not of his own success. I hate free rides, and I hate what the UFC did to him. He should have started at the bottom and worked his way up, not the other way around.
