David Stockton, son of legendary point guard John Stockton, has been making some noise with the Bighorns. He poured 32 points and 22 assists in the above video, and on the season is averaging 17 and 9, shooting 46% from the field and 38% from three. He appears to have a great feel for the game and is a skilled passer. He also has a quick shooting release and hits well off the bounce.
Will he contribute anything at the NBA level? In all likelihood, no. But the Kings are clearly going nowhere this season, and with he and several other talented players on the D-League squad (Jordan Hamilton, Quincy Miller, Brady Heslip, Ra'Shad James, David Wear) it would make sense for the Kings to start trying out some unproven players to see if they could find a diamond in the rough.
