It's ending ugly in Sacramento. It always was going to.
The only real question now is whether the unseemly mess created by the Brothers Maloof and NBA commissioner David Stern ends up on Anaheim's doorstep.

After a month of broken promises, name calling, backstabbing, and the ever-pompous Stern's usual condescension, the Maloofs, the city and the NBA are all unmistakably on a collision course with having to publicly acknowledge what has been obvious for years: The NBA doesn't work in Sacramento.....

This is a funny article. He rips all parties. He says the NBA doesn't work in Sac, but also says the Maloofs are horrible, broke owners looking for corporate welfare. He also rips Stern. Can't have it all three ways. What a horrible writer.

Interesting comments though! I like the comments through facebook! Requires giving up your anonymity. Look what happens when that happens: sane comments by normal people who know the situation. This should be a lesson to all.

The article is actually fairly spot-on, aside from ripping the city of Sacramento. The main point is that the Maloofs are goons trying to strong-arm their way into ripping someone, anyone off for a buck to stay in the spotlight a little longer. Nothing new here.

And yeah, neither Sacramento nor Seattle nor Anaheim deserve a Maloof-owned team. No one does. This guy isn't shilling for OC, he's making the rather obvious point that the Maloofs are inept and its time for everyone to start saying no to them.

They are obsessed with being "celebrities", a gym buddy of mine, who is on the dance/timeout entertainment squad and has been their for a whille says they watch listen and read everything that is put out there about them. when I asked for his opinion on the recent arena stuff he pretty much said he has to keep his mouth shut when it comes to bad mouthing them, he says thats pretty much the culture they have instilled in that building from the top down no one questions the magoofs if they want to stay in good standing.

That right there my friends, is the definition of institutionalized insanity. In all institutions that have gone horribly wrong (Penn State athletic department, etc.) this is the culture that is created. It's an extension of the personal egos of those in charge.

A healthy culture encourages critique. Simple as that.

Maloofed. Perhaps he will pay a visit and explain details if he wants to, but right now I have little reason to doubt that his departure from KHTK was handled similarly to Q&R, Rick Adelman, Kayte Christiansen, Koz, the ESC, and any other "business decision" they've made.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the Maloofs removed the seats out of Arco just so fans don't have anywhere to sit and then go to the BOG and say "let us move because fans no longer show up to games."

It's sad we literally have no voice as far as local media is concerned, these are all moves indicating that the maloofs want all arena talks that they can control to end and to restrict the fans voice.

Dave is from sactown, he tried his best to not bad mouth the maloofs but he's only human and the emotions got to him as they would to any of us. On the day of the maloof presser he was calling for Burke, since MSE pays the bills at KHTK that was basically the end of him.

In all fairness to Dave and to KHTK, I don't think we can assume that the Maloofs had any part in Dave's departure. I'm not saying it's not true but I don't think any of us know what's really going on. There's a thread in the General forum about the Carmichael Dave Show. Hopefully, at some point Dave will check in and clear things up for us.

Yeah that's the first thing I thought of when Dave went on Twitter about his firing...I think Dave had quite the following amongst Kings(obviously), and he was the voice of reason for us a lot of the time. He has accomplished a lot as far as clout in the pro-Sacramento and keeping the Kings movement, and when the Maloofs lost him as an ally, they called their puppet Kings affiliate station here and told them to fire him or else. I'm sure even when Dave checks in and gives us an update, he probably can't say much for fear of Maloof legal retalliation, so we probably wont hear the real story behind the story until hopefully the Maloofs hopefully go broke and sell to Burkle.
