taken from above, on the kings below

Kings: Kevin Martin continued to show that he knows how to put the ball in the basket, though he shot just 37 percent from the field in the Vegas Summer League.

Francisco Garcia continues to appear to be a mistake. He shot 33 percent from the field and 14 percent from 3-point territory. The Kings drafted him for his shooting. Ouch.

This year's rookies were better. Quincy Douby was solid. He scored, played some point guard and shot 40 percent from 3-point territory.

Undrafted rookie Louis Amundson was a crowd favorite in Vegas with his athleticism and hustle. His 10.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 69 percent shooting from the field might earn him a roster spot with the Kings.

I think the idiot is a bit premature calling Garcia a mistake. And he doesn't seem to know that Garcia was trying to play on a bad foot. And Garcia was starting to come along pretty nicely until that stupid, and really bad, ankle twist.

As to Kevin's 37 percent, apparently they wanted him to practice attacking the basket and getting to the line. I'd say he did pretty well at his assignment. ;)

It's Chad Ford. The bozo probably didn't hear that Garcia had a bone chip that eventually forced him to quit playing. He'd rather just blather whatever comes to mind, and not let silly things like facts get in the way.

im not defending this guy,but a lot of mags had us going to the finals aganst indiana, lol.
on paper our team looked dman good last year, starting lineup people thought could be one of the best, possibilities of kt and brain skinner of the bench. one of my fanstay mags had corliss averaging as many as 10 points last year. so someone saying 2nd see last year wasn't tht far of a stretch, especially with amares injury and hoe ppl thought phx might take a nose dive

He was working on driving inside. He got really good at drawing fouls. The stat lines in summer league are always deceiving.

Wow, I didn't follow summer league much, but I've heard a lot about K-Mart being dominant over at Vegas. How did he only shoot 37%?

It was all about the FTs. He didn't shoot well, but the games seemed to be called incredibly tight and Kevin spent the whole week standing at the FT line. He was up over 20 FTs in one of those games.

You've got about five too many words in that sentence...

:p

Now thats funny!

By the way I beleive I saw Ford's picks for the play-offs next season, which is beyond me how anyone could predict anything at this point, not even knowing the total make-up of the teams. Anyway, he ommited the Kings from the chosen few.

He hurt his back?

I remember hearing something about Garcia getting injured but nothin about Martin.

Kevin is fine. He had a back spasm, nothing serious. I repeat - Kevin Martin is fine.
