KingsFans.com has had a long-standing tradition of having threads like this for each long-tenured King, when they depart. And, presuming that this rumored trade is official, this one is for Francisco Garcia, the last player to play a playoff game in a Kings uniform.

This will not become a player-bashing thread; if you have an uncomplimentary opinion about Garcia, you'd better find somewhere else to express it.

Hell yes. An absolute class act. Sad to see him go -his positivity and leadership will be missed.

dam straight Slim. Well put.

thanks for everything cisco. i will dearly miss you, loved watching you evolve from the untucked jersey to the long range bomber and wiley vet. Hit them treys in HOU

I will miss Francisco. Always positive, always supportive, always a great teammate, always the consummate professional. I loved his intensity and effort on the court at both ends and his 3-point shot. He was a positive for the team, the fans and this city. I wish you all good things in the future, Cisco.

I was always a fan of Garcia and his on and off the court leadership. I am actually happy for him and glad that he gets to go to a solid team and out of this mess. I wish Garcia all the best!

I got to reply to this. Garcia is/was the class of our roster. now his jersey will go up on my wall with Webb, bibby, Martin, Artest.

Good luck, Cisco! You drove me nuts sometimes but you always gave 100% for the team and for our community. You, sir, are a class act and your enthusiasm and dedication will be sorely missed.

Some of Garcia's final numbers as a King:

Games: 462 (5th in Sac-era, 18th in franchise history)
Minutes: 10123 (12th in Sac-era)
Points: 3848 (16th in Sac-era)
3pt Made: 475 (4th in franchise history)
Steals: 391 (9th in Sac-era, 17th in franchise history)
Blocks: 343 (7th in Sac-era, 8th in franchise history)

All the best Cisco, and thank you for your service. I once thought you'd make a very good complementary piece next to Tyreke, but unfortunately injuries happened and your growth was perhaps stunted as a result. Your professionalism and hustle will be remembered.

This. Good luck in Houston!

Cisco is a class act and one of the last players in the league to stay on one team his whole career. He will be missed. BTW my wife cried.

Cisco might have lost a few steps the last few years, but I always appreciated how he worked his tail off 110% everytime he came onto the floor. True "team-first" are rare in the NBA and Cisco was one of them. He will be missed!

Thank you Cisco! You have always been and continue to be a class act! Part of me hopes the new ownership brings him back over the summer purely for veteran leadership in the locker room!

His leadership will really be missed! Whether he was a starter or a 12th man, his attitude hasalways been the same and its been team first mentality!

I can see Garcia playing a role for them in the playoffs this year.
Without a backup PG, they could even start Garcia and have Parsons run the offense off the bench.

Unlike many players in the NBA, one thing you could never question was Cisco's heart. Sure I had high hopes for him coming out of Louisville and thouhgt he would be more than he is in this league, but that is due to lack of talent and not lack of character - Good luck to him at his next destination

Yes, despite the obvious falloff in play, I thought Cisco had a role here of some improtance as not only a vet with leadership, but as a last link to better times too. I woudl even have offred him the vet min to comeback next year just for those reasons. Once the team was sold it was clear that wasn't going to happen though as all the old bonds of loyalty were going to mean nothing under a new regime, and now as a final indignity to get Maloofed for very little gain.

Good luck in Houston. I will miss you. A real positive spirit on this team for a long time. Oh, and he taught me not to bring two 90 pound weights to my workout on an exercise ball. Thanks, Cisco.

I remember having a lot of discussions over Garcia as a young player. I argued he was better than Salmons, and even Kevin Martin at times back when they were his competition for playing time. He was a good player for this team for a long time. Always a class act off the court. Good luck, Cisco. The league needs more players with your attitude.

If I wasn't so pissed off at the trade overall this would have sparked a bigger reaction from me, because for a long, long time I really thought Francisco Garcia was going to do big things in this league. He had all the tools and intangibles to be a 'super role player', but injuries and bad coaching/management stopped that from being a reality.

One of the finest and true class acts this league has ever seen. Cisco was a leader at heart, and he showed it every night he was given an opportunity to do so. Sad to see injuries hinder the success of a good man. He will do great things for a contending team. A solid piece to the puzzle, and can hit that big shot late...

Cisco had moments where he was a better voice in a locker room than our coaches. Another player who deserves better than what he's experienced here. Always loved his game when he was at Louisville and was excited when we drafted him. He will be a true asset in Houston, a team being built to compete. Thank you Cisco and best of luck.

Props to Cisco for the locker room presence. Is JT our longest tenured King now?

Anyways, wishing nothing but the best for the guy. He might have aggravated us on the court, but off the court he was leader.

Ciao, Francisco, the father behind the scenes of about a 1/4 of the youngsters. Curiously, before the trade/pillage, I had wondered if he would be worth resaigning at the vet's minimum and he is still available at that no matter what team he is with. Maybe a million more. It's a thought.

I'd be fine with that. I doubt he gets anywhere in the mini-MLE area, so vet min is where he should land. He could go ring chasing as bench insurance, or come back here.
