Terrence Williams Works out for Kings Again

Interesting. This would suggest that we're *really* not happy with the state of our SG - which, for a team actually playing for this year, is fair enough.

You know, sometimes I'll look at an item on Amazon. Then a few days later I'll look at it again. Then I'll go through the customer reviews. Look for other mentions on the web. Look at the Amazon page again. At some point I realize that it's been a foregone conclusion that I was going to buy it for a while, the only question is when.

Just sign him already. He brings an element to our team that we don't have which is above average defense from the SG spot. If you just focus on the defensive abilities of our guards, Ben is ok at best right now, I think Stauskas and Sessions are below average defensively, not very physical. Collison is average and Ray plays physical defense but I wouldn't call him a good defender yet, he's just the best one on our team.

TWill could help defensively and has enough offensive ability to be real interesting. Sign him.

I really liked his previous stint with the team, as his versatility as a distributor and defensive thorn shone through. Character was always the trump card for his short stints throughout his career, especially in Houston and New Jersey, and I wonder how that will change with a greater veteran presence (along with some standard maturing from early to late 20s).

Count me as a Terrence Williams fan, and hopeful of him making a positive impact on the Kings!

T-Will is an awesome player... But a total nut.

Lets roll the dice! They can write it into his contract that he won't get paid if he misses games due to jail time right?

Freakin awesome I really like T-Will's game he has excellent court vision and elite athleticism he could push for significant mins 1 through 3.

Just adding another player off the street...don't care much for this signing if true but I suppose it can't be any worse than what we all ready have so I am willing to give him some minutes to show what he can do and if he can help contribute in anyway on the win column.

You would hope we'd be getting a more humble T-Will, at some point these guys have to grow up right? By all accounts the only thing that has kept him out of the league is off court issues, the guy has NBA talent. He is a high IQ player with great physical tools, I would feel slightly better about our SG position if we signed T-Will, at the least he is a vet that will know his role, rather than a kid with all the world to prove.

As the back up SF that would be good, we really have to develop either Ben/Nik or both we can't afford to let them not develop so we can play Terrance Williams (who is very talented), I really think we just need to pick Ben or Nik trade the other and let Terrance take all the back up mins at both SG/SF. I really like his game/athletic ability but letting him play SG while Derrick or Casspi play SF while Nik/Ben watch is kind of stupid imo.

If it were up to me I would be getting as much playing time into Nik as possible he's shown he's got every tool to be a successful SG other than strength atm which he can easily work on in years to come. A smart skilled player who can shoot with above average athletic ability is not that easy to come by, add to that he's fearless and that's a nice little recipe. Based on those tools he's a perfect long term fit with Cousins which is why you play him, cause the more he plays the better he will get.

Ben to me reminds me to much of T-Rob tbh, unless he does some massive turnaround like Terrance Ross did in Toronto I am not sure what to do with him.

We all whine about needing an upgrade at the 2. If u get the chance u take it. If Ben and nik want minutes go out and earn them.

Also keep in mind that our schedule is brutal to start the season. If our young guys flop from the get go it will be hard to pull their confidence up.

While Williams is a upgrade it's not really a upgrade where you would sacrifice future potential of Ben/ Nik it's not like we got say a Gerald Henderson or someone like that where you could say without question yeah this guy is a starter in the NBA and he could really help us a lot now. Terrance is a fill in not the answer, Ben/Nik are potentially a long term answer I don't ever see Williams as a long term answer. Short term it's a couple wins extra maybe......

Did you say the same about doug Christie? Ben/Nik put on ur big boy pants and earn minutes.

What? Please don't tell me your comparing Doug Christie and that Kings team to this situation?

We are not in a position where players have to "earn" playing time, we simply are not that good, we need to develop not earn........Seriously the West is BEYOND stacked, us making a 8th seed would be a miracle at this point.

Wow, ok we will have to agree to disagree.

If you want to convince me to give up Ben's/Nik development/playing time than go out get a legit starting 2 guard in Kevin Martin/Gerald Henderson/Avery Bradley and these types yeah I will agree, but getting a talented journeymen while sacrificing there playing time for him is not logical.

ben has had plenty of mins. Sorry this ain't the semipro league gotta outplay journeymen.

I've always been a proponent of more T-Williams on the Kings - the guy single-handedly kept the Kings in many games back when he got some minutes, IIRC.
Dude could play, years ago.

But
a) I don't know what he's done recently
and
b) He was supposedly such a head-case/weirdo that Grant Napier could label him "crazier than anyone he's seen with the Kings" (or something along those lines) and not have anyone contradict him or remotely come to T-Will's defense. So I'm pretty sure there was something REALLY wrong with T-Will and I don't see how THAT serious of personality/character flaw would go away....

Williams can play, so I don't have a problem with giving him another chance. He gives us depth where we need it and he's already shown us in the past that he's a capable defender and an above-average passer. True we seem to be adding depth at a lot of positions (Sessions, Casspi, Williams) when what we really need is front-line talent, but penciling Collison and Williams into the starting unit alongside Cousins and Gay at least puts us one PF trade away from being an interesting team right now. That added depth also gives us more options when working out trades. Ben is going to need to do more than just shoot to prove he's a starter in this league and the same goes for Nik. Why not let them develop their skillsets without the responsibility of a starting role this season?
