i think both IT and MT have looked unimpresive so far in preseason....i would play jimmer over both of them at this point. package both or either of them with salmons expiring ....

Exactly.. his performance came off as very me-firstIT hasn't played terribly, it's just that the team tends to do worse when IT individually does well. That's not the sign of a floor general. He doesn't have to average 9 assists a game, but don't take away from players that are hot so you can get yours. Get a win instead. He has yet to understand that.
...Is Ndyaiye(sp) a potential guy to help?
- from link on Twitter"We've seen him in action before and I know that he is a fan favorite. What was more exciting for me to be honest, was not the fan reaction, but I think it's a great sign when a guy is getting off in a game and his teammates on the bench are up supporting him. And everyone was up when Jimmer was making those plays and I think that's a great sign for our team. No one cares who gets the credit. We support each other. We believe in each other. We push each other in the right way and when we do that, good things are going to happen. So, I love how our team is coming together - on the court, off the court, we're creating that chemistry, that bond we need." -Coach Malone on Jimmer
Im still not sure I'll ever understand why IT is apparently "the problem" in some people's eyes here. To me, the SF position and Thornton are far bigger concerns.

They were indeed actuallyI think your grandkids were caught on the broadcast/arena feed at one point!
I don't think Thornton is a concern, considering he's barely even been touching the ball. The SF position has been a problem since 2007, so there's no point in going on about it. When me and some others complained about the SF position not being resolved in the offseason we were told to give the FO a chance and blablablaba. The SF position isn't getting resolved. It's a sunk cost.
Which brings us to IT. He's "the problem" because he's not playing team ball, and because he is going to be one of our main guys. We've talked so much about changing the culture, playing as a team. Here we have one of our key players not sharing the ball. Combine that with the fact that he's a PG and you wonder why people are treating him as "the problem"? I know you think I'm an IT hater and what not, but I think it says something when pretty much everybody in the game thread felt that IT was playing a "me-first" game.
IT played a bad game. So what? He also played several games where he did a fine job getting others involved. And even on bad games, you still see he's at least hustling out there as he usually does.
Thornton just looks uninterested. He's getting worked on D by nobodys. He's not getting involved offensively.
Wish I could have watched the game but reading the game thread, sounds like GV played well in his minutes. Cuz was an obvious beast again....and with 6 steals even. Jimmer had a good game.....knocking down 3s. If he can do this at a high rate....maybe he can help after all......but he has to hit the 3s at a good rate.
I've been piling on MT and its tough to do much in 8 minutes but a few posts said he looked disinterested. Maybe he doesn't fit with this system.

Yeah there was a lengthy discussion in the previous game grades thread concerning Jimmer. I think if he's put at PG his deficiencies are taken advantage of....speaking of the ball handling. If you just spot him at 3 point line at SG, then he is more efficient and can just shoot the ball or move it or even drive off kick outs. He can help there. Still will struggle to be a avg defensive guy at best but he an stretch the defense. Not sure if your aware, but last season Jimmer was the best 3 pt shooter on the team, shooting just under 42% from there. So its not really his shooting that's kept him off the floor. Its been his ballhandling, which has improved, and his defense, which so far this year, also seems to have improved. I still think his best position is PG, but if you can pair him with someone like Vazquez, then it doesn't matter. You'd have two PG's on the floor, and Vasquez could guard the SG's and Jimmer could guard the PG's. Which is how they started the game tonight.
I kind of get where IT is coming from. IT is in a contract year. Kings aren't yet a good team. Might as well showcase to get some bread after the season.
With GV on the floor the team was involved and was a priority of his to get the ball to an open man. With IT on the floor the team came second and he looked for his shot first quite a few times.
The way this team is designed I believe a "pure PG" will work better so I cannot wait to see more of the GV/Cuz show. I think those two will make each other a LOT better. It's much more fun to watch than the 5 individuals we had on the floor last year.
