Just summer league.
Ours is a bad squad but that doesn't matter.
1) Boogie showed up and looked happy, albeit with Malone. Sat next to and chatted amicably with Vlade for a long spell. The pressure would be on Karl now to get along.
2) WCS flashed some more of that defensive ability and ability to run the floor.
3) Moreland was more of a factor and looked more like the guy who hustled his way into a contract last summer. Playing the same WCS role whenever WCS leaves the floor, but noticeably smaller than WCS though. Pure PF if he does stick.
And the rest is kind of who cares. Anderson not showing much this time, but ok, he's the 12th man maybe. Summer league chaos. Just looking for your players of interest to flash stuff, and ours did. Got a bonus when Boogie showed up and looked happy. Its enough.

Willie made some incredible plays on defense. And somehow, with absolutely no guard play, scored 15pts in 22 minutes. Not bad for a defensive guy.

WCS made a lot of guys miss that tried to shoot against him (not sure what the official numbers are) and had 2 blocks. Would like to see him get more rebounds, though. We mostly got burned defending the 3, so that's not really on WCS. It's not really comparable to say Mudiay is better than WCS based on this game, but Mudiay did look good.

Always was why so many of his comparisons were off base. And as I said at the time, rebounding really does translate pretty well from college to teh pros. Don't rebound in college, probably won't in the pros. And vice versa.
Thing is alongside Boogie, if that is the pairing, its really not going to matter that much. Well, if he only grabs 1 it will matter. But he can be below average and that's fine. Still gets me thinking 1 of our final 2 big mannish adds should be Reggie though. As long as WCS is always out there with a Cuz, Koufos, or Reggie, the boards will be taken care of.

Honestly Utah would have to be one of the few contenders. WCS may not rebound, but he looks to be an off the ball menace, and Koufos had better defensive numbers than Gasol last year.
With Bargs out of the way I'm half hoping we look back into Mbah a Moute. Getting greedy.

Well if given the choice I would much rather have his dad start....
I don't think Burke will be on the team next year but Dante Exum is going to make a big leap this year. He is already a very good defender but he is going to be a much better play maker.

Yeah, sure. Gobert has started a whopping 37 games in his career and barely plays over 25 min per game while Favors has yet to justify his draft position after numerous years in the league - but yeah, they are inarguably the best interior defensive team in the NBA, no doubt.
Funny, the Kings true starting 5 was among the best in the league when they all played together last season yet nobody takes that very seriously. But I guess this is different somehow.
Favors and gobert are a terrific defensive frontcourt.
