I don't understand why Sheldon has stayed in while Spencer sits, we've been in a huge offensive drought and need a guy who can score in multiple ways. Sheldon is a better defender but is too inconsistent offensively.

Only disappointing thing tonight was Spencer only getting THREE rebounds in 33 minutes. I love this guy to death and he'll be one of the better big men in the league, but he HAS to learn how to rebound.

How can a 7 footer get only 3 defensive boards in 33 minutes? You practically have to be playing dodgeball

Last close game Reggie sat Spencer for the whole forth quarter too...it must be because he trusts Sheldons defense over spencers...I think by not getting him in there that could of been the difference...dumb move reggie.

With the exception of mysteriously benching our lottery pick for the 4th quarter, it really was.

We secured the #12 pick -- no chance of falling to #13 now. We played the kids down the stretch (likely because we had no choice, but still) and got them experience. We kept it close and made it fun for the fans. And we set up tommorow night as a game in which there is no downside whatsoever to us going out and beating our rivals. Of course it may be too late for it to matter to them -- think only the Hornets can still catch them now, and only if we beat them and the Hornets win out.

I agree, but he's actually been rebounding fairly decent since he got more minutes late in the season. Perhaps one reason Spence only had 3 boards in 33 mins tonight is the Spurs shot over 52% and Kings 50% from the field. Most of the game the Spurs were shooting near 60%. Hopefully, Hawes puts on some weight this summer and in the next couple of years as he gets older so he can get more rebounds. On a side note, Shelden Williams looks like he has a the big wide body for getting tough on the boards.

Yeah, Houston was the other possible, but they bombed out tonight in Utah (as almost all teams bomb in Utah), so it's just as you say.

Good game, I hope our guys saved a little energy for Staples.

The way the less heralded Kings have been playing the past three games against upper-echelon teams really bodes well for next year--I know I've said in the other thread that the West will be a massacre next year essentially, but at least I know that we've got competitive, quickly growing pieces that can help us rise every inch of the way, even if it's a slow process away from mediocrity. However, with this core, there's some solace that we're not a pee-poor team; what with Garcia's resurgence in steals and blocks (which I particularly like about his game), and doing all this without the big three vet guns of Artest-Martin-Miller. There's something to be said there, and there certainly looks to be a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's shining brighter now.
