You can run but You can't hide.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 2003 Kings were on another run to win the title. We were better than in 2002 when we got robbed out of the title. Jazz were the first round opponent. They caused some trouble despite the difference in the talent and level of play. Kings went up 2-0 and Vlade said that they (Jazz) were done. As it usualy works - Jazz won the game 3 and it looked like the momentum shifted.
On April 28th game 4 took place. Jazz played well in the first half and were up by 4. In the 3rd quarter Pedja got hot (15 pts) and Kings outscored Jazz 36-18 and never looked back again. Couple days later we won the game 5 and ended Stockton's career. Pedja lead the Kings with 27/3/1/2st/2bl, Webber had 26/11/3/4st/2bl, Mike had 11/4/9/3st. Bobby and JJ combined 19 pionts off the bench.

For 24 minutes, it looked like John Stockton and Karl Malone would play at least one more game at the Delta Center. Then Peja Stojakovic, Chris Webber and the Sacramento Kings took over. Stojakovic scored 27 points and Webber added 26 as the Kings pulled away for 99-82 victory over the Utah Jazz and took a commanding three games to one lead in their Western Conference first-round series. The Jazz had a 41-37 halftime lead but made just one basket in the final 3 1/2 minutes. Sacramento carried the momentum into the third quarter and outscored Utah, 36-18. That increased the likelihood that Malone and Stockton played their final home game as teammates. Stojakovic scored 27 points and Webber added 26 as the Kings pulled away for 99-82 victory over the Utah Jazz and took a commanding three games to one lead in their Western Conference first-round series.

"Is the series over? How do you want me to answer that?" Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said. "If they aren't going to fly to Sacramento, we'll take it. But that isn't going to happen. This team isn't going to go away. We had a great second half, but that doesn't mean anything going to Sacramento that we are going to win."

"I just need a couple of open shots in the third quarter and I knocked them down, and that's how I got going," Stojakovic said. "I found my rhythm and when we get the offense at our tempo, it's much easier for me.
"

After all games 2 are compleated i am even more pissed that we couldn't make the 7th spot. Tell me again why one game is not important in the big picture.
Kings - Spurs - looks like 4-1 but even sweep is possible. It will be hard to get back into this
Mavs - Grizzlies - pretty much the same. Mavs are playing great
Clipps - Nuggets - I don't know how Denver will respond but i don't dee them win a game in LA. Clipps in 7 as a worse game scenario but more like Clips in 5
Suns - Lakers - this will go 7 and obviously. I hope that Suns can pull it. I remember someone trying to convince me that we are better off with Spurs than with Suns. Say what ?
I don't care much about east because nobody has a chance against pistons.
Pistons - Bucks - sweep
Pacers - Nets - I really like the way that krstic is owning the Pacers who are the worst passing team I have ever seen. Nets in 7
Heat -Bulls. i would love to see bulls win but still Heat in 5
Cavs - Wizards. Wizards in 6unless Lebron goes really crazy which of course he is perfectly capable of

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings are down 2-0 which isn't unexpected but considering the way the last game ended - we might be down more than than mentally. Spurs held a serve and now it is our turn to try to return the favor and make it a 3 games series. Obviously, it is easier said than done but we know we can beat them and ARCO just might help us do that. It doesn't look too good but it isn't hopless yet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
What happened last game - it wasn't the first time and it won't be the last. Get "used" to it or step aside because it will eat You alive. If You have been around in 2002,2003 and 2004 - You have developed thick skin. If You are just falling in love with Kings just now - please reconsider. This kind of love hurts. If You are around longer and You didn't expect something loke this to happen - stay of drugs and stop drinking. When it comes to Kings - luck isn;t a good partner because it cheats when we need it the most. Welcome to hell.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have all the reason to be proud of the way the team responded after the spanking from the first game. Most of the guys came to play and then some. At the end it wasn't enough but all we can ask of a player to give their best and play their hearts out. If we would have gotten more of it over the course of the season - we wouldn't have been playing the Spurs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
What a game. the first 47:50 were great to watch. Both teams playing hard and playing well. Even the refs were pretty objective. Unfortunately, a game is 48 minutes long and it's nature is brutal because You can screw up everything in one possesion. Kinda like a cow that gives You 20 gallons of milk but at the end of milking kicks the can and spils it all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a dog. his name is Bobby. I trained bobby to do simple things. Nothing special. One of those things involves following, stopping and not leaving the position. Bobby is a smart dog. How hard is it for a professional player to follow instruction ? How smart do You really have to be to realize the difference between a 2 and 3 ? Just how bad do You really want to win and what are You prepared to do for it ? Can You manage not to screw up one possesion that has it all. Brent Barry did a great job making that shot considering he was WIDE OPEN.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
What a performance by Kevin, Bonzi and SAR. 2 of them had almost no PO experience and Bonzi didn't have much lately. Despite that they showed up big time and brought us in the position to win. It was a pleasure to watch them and I hope for more in the future. Even the loss as hard as it was can't take that away. Thanks guys - it was the pleasure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rick Adelman also deserves props for they way his team responded. He got most of the guys ready to play. Coached well, we controlled the game and got what we wanted. He outcoached Pop. What he couldn't do is go in the game instead if his players. He can tell guys what to do but if they can make a simple thing - there is nothing he can do. Only thing that he is responsible for is trusting his players sometime blindly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Watching Brad Miller in the POs reminds me on the movie "space jam" His level of performance is pathetic, unacceptable, aggrivating but mostly disappointing. Not only does he suck on both ends of the floor but he also helping Spurs making Bibby totaly ineffective. There is no indication that Brad will bounce back. We just can't count on it. As far as I am concerned - he is a waste of 7 foot human body.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We knew that Mike Bibby can't stop anyone. Now that I fixed my computer chait - it would score 40 on him. We already put him on their worst offensive player. We can't make him look good even playing against a kindergarden team. Now that he is getting the "pedja treatment" from Pop he is fairly useless on the other end too. If I would have to pick between Hart and him at the moment - I would have to think about it. His offense might improve when Ron gets back and Bowen switches his focus but his defense will never get better. It isn't the first time that it cost us a game. Mike Bibby is incapable of folowing a simple instruction. He can't stay on his man. My grandmother would have done a better job of that. How hard it is to guard the 3 and star on the man. You don't even have to watch the ball. Who cares what happenes. You can see it later on a tape. You don't care about a ball or the play ot anything else but cover one player and follow him. You even know the they have to hit a three because they run out of time outs. People say that he would look better with better interior defense. Whatever. As far as I am concerned his best defense is when he is sitting on the bench where he belongs in such situations. Even JWill wasn't this pathetic. Come one man !
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Awards are pretty easy to hand out. Brent Barry scored 22 pts 8-12 from the field to go with 2rb and an assist. Even if he didn't - he scored when we needed it the least. Easy TDM winner.
LW - VC award goes yet again to Brad Miller making him the first player to go on a streak. If he goes for the sweep so will the Spurs. I could put his stats here but do the really matter ? You watched the game.
If You are wondering where is Bibby here. Well, it is quiet simple. My vacuum cleaner sucks pretty good but not that good.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We played great for 47 minutes and 50 seconds or so. Came out of the game empty in many ways. This was our game to lose and as usual we found the way. Usually, You win as a team and You lose as a team but please tell that to SAR, Bonzi and Kevin. What else were they suposed to do ? Spurs are evry deep, very talented but they didn't deserve to win that night. They weren't better despite us being without Artest and with Brad and Bibby.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A BSPN broadcast. They will make me sick. Walton is always an option. I hope for Tolbert. Studio retards will be as annoying as usual probably making fun of us again. Use mute button on Your remote. It will be pretty bad. It will be a Spurs worship network and I hope that we spoil their fun.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
What can we expect in game 3. Hopefully Ron will play good enough to get Bowen off Bibby. Will Miller "be there." I wouldn't put my money on it. your's maybe but not my money. Which kings killer will have his night ? We all know that one of them will. Don't even deny it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike -
Ron - now is the time Ron and take those pills man - damn
SAR - do it again
Bonzi - impressive
Brad -
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - do it again kid
KT - time for You to have a big game
Cisco - maybe some more minutes
Hart - better than Bibby
the rest - Mateen
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - just get them ready again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What else can we say about Spurs. They really start to annoyme big time. TDM will go to Finley and LW-VC will go to Brad Miller again. Kings are due to win a game and while it will be very difficult to do it - it is our best shot.

I'm hoping SAR goes for 40 on Friday. No one can stop him in the low post. He owns Duncan. Keep feeding SAR and if he causes double teams then he kicks it out to Brad or Mike for the open jumper. And if Brad can't hit the open jumper then bench him in the IR list and bring out Sampson.

be careful what You wish for. Tim Duncan is Tim Duncan despite injury problems. Always capable of hurting us. No player in the "owns" Tim Duncan. Not even rasheed Wallace

i leased tim duncan for 2 years then traded him in for a previously owned steve nash.... i was so happy when bibby sold it to me, then i realized if bibby didnt own him he might beat him in the playoffs.... thank god that the kings cant maintain large (if any for that matter) leads in important games......

Bibby needs to be more aggresive in this game by looking for his shots early on. Kings have absolutly NO chance beating the Spurs if Mike and Brad continue to choke in the playoffs. Especially Brad. He seems lost on both defense and offense (the defense part isnt new).

EDIT: I meant Mike and Brad

Since we don't have one right now on the roster. Someone has to pretend to be a pressence in the paint on D. Brad! I am talking to YOU, BRAD!!!

Should be another hard fought game.

I'm going to be in Arco, screamin for our guys! I'm really hopin' the crowd blows the top off the arena. :)

EDIT: Another great job, Piksi. :)

Thank you for a nice stroll down the memory lane pikseta.

As for Game 3: If we get the same solid game plan (with whatever adjustments RA deems necessary) and same effort and play from our guys (whether Bibby and Brad decide to join the effort) - I'll take it.

Just. Play. Hard.

Go Kings!

I think saying Reef "owns" Duncan is a little steep.

He can match Duncan night in and night out. He can negate what Duncan does statistically, which is about all you can ask.

I never expected us to win this series. I didn't really even expect us to show hard this series, to be honest.

What I wanted - and hoped for - is something we can build on.

Whether we win these next two games or win the next four ... I want to see us play with heart and leave it all on the floor. Give us something to build on for next year.

To me - that means:
* Bibby - play some defense! I don't care where your offense is. We've got enough weapons (as evidenced last night) to score points. Hustle on defense and quit flopping! (PS - In the final seconds of a 3 point game ... don't leave the sniper)

* Miller - echo the same thing as Mike Bibby. Your game is not built for the playoff, so change. Go out there and get 5 hard fouls. Let Manu and Parker know that they aren't getting an E-Z Pass to the lane. It should be you instead of Artest for hitting someone hard. It's your job to make a statement in the lane .... do it!

* Artest - When healthy, practiced and in shape, you're one of the best players in the league. Right now, you aren't that guy. Give it your all on the defensive end and let the offense come to you. You don't need to force it. We'll find you. You'll get shots. But, what we need from you is your confidence, strength and hustle! We don't need you to force shots, it hurts us.

* Bonzi - I can't reprimand or push you in any way. I've doubted you all year, but you just keep showing me up. Keep doing it! Last night you forced it a bit, but had some good results. When the shot stopped falling you stepped it up elsewhere. That's what I love to see. There is no lack of heart here - move along.

* Thomas - I can almost mirror the lack of faith thing with you, but you keep showing up. You're the least likely player to be out there working. Lack of size, lack of athletic skill ... doesn't matter. You've hustled and been active against the bulls of San Antonio. Keep doing it. Don't worry about your statistics - we all see that you're one of two big men that are actually competing out there.

* Reef - Keep it up and I'll name you a premier playoff performer. You've gotten rebounds, points and given hustle on defense. What more could you want? Forget missing those last second shots. Good look and would fall most nights. Don't look back and start looking forward. You are the man right now.

* Cisco - I wish you got on the court more often. When you're out there, good things happen. That's all I can say.

* Hart - You aren't Bibby. Quit taking Bibby-type shots and play PG.

I hate Hart's play this year as much as the next guy, but I believe him and Bibby were tied with the same number of FGs in regulation (or maybe Bibby did worse). Atleast Hart kinda played D. Bibby needs to step it up. Hart isn't the cure but atleast he hasn't played totally awful this series.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone knows that Bibby can't play D, he is even more overmatched anytime he's on Parker (who had no problem driving by the more athletic Martin for a big 4th quarter layup). I agree that it's inexcusable for Bibby to come inside on the penetration, leaving Barry wide open for the 3. It looks easy as an outside observer, it makes you wonder how the hell it could ever happen. But if you've ever played the game, you'd realize that sometimes you can get caught up in the moment, making a mental mistake with the game on the line (just ask CWebb). It's bad, but it happens. The game moves as such a fast pace. As much as it pains all of us as fans to lose that way, I'm positive that it pains Bibby 10X as much.

It was a horrible loss, but the Kings have to do their collective best to put it behind them and focus soley on game 3. The one thing I do guarantee is Bibby bouncing back in a big way. We've all seen what he's capable of and what he's down for us in the playoffs. It's a tought matchup w/ Bowen but his pride will step up in a big way when we need him most.

Bibby will bounce back offensively only if Bowen is not on him. I don't blame Bibby for 3-16 on offense. While it sucked - I understand why. I have seen Pedja struggle against Bowen for 7 years so it is hard to get good shots.

There are no excuses for the "I thought the game was over"- attitude. None what so ever. It cost us the game and probably the series (if we really had any chances to begin with)

Good lord, piksi.

This is getting ridiculous. You're taken a part of a quote and you're blowing it up as though Mike actually stood there in the middle of the court just watching the rest of the team play.

What he said after the game was just an attempt to put into words a mass of thoughts that had to be going through his and everyone else's mind at the time. It wasn't ONE thought. It was one of many thoughts. Who among us wouldn't be thinking at least in a part of their mind that they would have the game won as long as they did such and such.

To keep harping on this is just beneath you. You're taking a comment made AFTER the game and superimposing it on the game itself. Not the same and not fair.

Bibby will bounce back offensively WITH Bowen on him. Bibby is that good and he isn't Peja. Bibby actually wants the ball during clutch situations, he has proved that througout his career and will continue to do so in this series.

Like I already said, as much as it hurts you the way the Kings lost game 2, it hurts Bibby 10x as much.

Have some faith in the guy.

And Bibby has not made one single excuse for his failings on that play. He's done nothing, but accept total and complete blame. What's he supposed to do, slit his wrists? Does anybody think they feel worse than he does?

I couldn't agree more. Yes it's hard being a Kings fan with so many heartbreaking losses over the years, but life goes on.

I wouldn't count out a motivated Mike Bibby. We've seen plenty of amazing things from him, Bowen or no Bowen, we're going to see some impressive things from Mike over the next few games.
