[Game] Spurs at Kings 3/28 7PM PST

And the Jazz lost. Worse than that Jefferson score 18 points on 19 shots.

Favors plays much better defense than Cousins and that doesn't really go away when he isn't shooting well.
Favors and Cousins at this point don't really deserve being put in the same class, to be honest. I'm done with your silly Jazz musings. I do find it comical that we have a Jazz troll hanging around. I believe that is a first.

i am not fond of keith smart's fetishising of isaiah thomas in the least. like most, i'm stoked on thomas' development and his utility, but the kings will not live or die by thomas' production as they move forward as a team. he's not built to be among a team's most high-usage players. like it or not, people, size does matter in the nba. there is exactly zero historical precedence for the long term success of a player like thomas in the starting unit of any nba team. he's most ideally suited for an electric sixth man role. but, at the moment, i have no problem with his role on the kings, because this roster is so terribly mismatched that there's few other available solutions as far as the remainder of the season is concerned. however, thomas' elevation in the rotation should not come at the expense of the chemistry of the kings' cornerstone talents. it is beyond unacceptable to me that tyreke evans has sat on the bench at the end of the fourth quarter in these last two games while terrence williams, still on a 10-day contract, has taken his place. there is no excuse for such an inane substitution in a close game at home against one of the best teams in the nba. it is so abhorrently confounding that i actually turned the game off before it was a lost cause. i wonder if tyreke is ever going to have a head coach in sacramento who won't jerk him around on a weekly basis. under keith smart, prognosis: negative.

At this point that is probably true. Cousins get to play a lot and has more offensive skills than Favors right now.

He took 24 shots to score 25 points. It just isn't very efficient. That is all I am saying. I am not saying he is horrible or that he will always be inefficient. I was just using this game to show what I was referring to. He needs to be way more efficient on the offensive end if he is going to be a dominate player on a winning team.

So Tim Duncan isn't very efficient either. He took 18 shots for only 18 points.

I think so, too. I know we've had a Nugget fan and I believe we had a Sonics fan once upon a time.

Plus, he was doing it effectively (add 8 boards) against Kings on a back-to-back - scoring 26pts last night in Phoenix. "Old man" Duncan only averages 13pts/6 rebounds in back-to-backs this season.

He didn't hold him to anything. Parker was too busy getting teammates involved, he is a pg afterall, and because of that multiple guys were in a rhythm, and.....they won. Think Pop would rather Parker just jack up 19 shots and not get anyone else involved?

Kind of humorous coming from a Tyreke fan.

Look, what was IT to do? What was Reke to do? Tyreke had nothing going on. The Spurs cut off the dribble drive. Evans has no game beyond that. He hasn't developed his off the ball game and he hasn't developed an outside shot. He wasn't swinging the ball that quickly either. When the lane is cut off, Tyreke struggles and it hurts the team. The team can't do anything to help him. He needs to help himself by growing his game. If he had an off-ball game or an outside shot, he would have more shots per game. Why? Because he would be a good option in more situations. As a kickout, he's not a threat and on on off-ball movement he's not a threat.

What needs to happen is Thornton going to the bench, Tyreke sliding down to the 2, and then picking up a small forward during summertime/draft/at gunpoint. IT has become incredibly selfish when compared to the beginning of the season. Someone needs to get him back down to earth. Smart is not the answer at coaching either if the defense continues to be like this, which is most likely what it will be considering his track record for smallball. What a disaster this is turning out to be

Who is saying this is Reke's fault. I never said anything like that. All I said is he is responsible for his own performance. I think your Reke sensitivity is manifesting itself in to anger towards IT.

You're definitely catching on, cstorm... :D

The vitriol against Thomas is just stunning to me. Here we have a guy who just put up 28/10 on a championship contender. When you have a guy that is offensively hot, and your team scores 112 points, you don't criticize the offense.

Where is the problem? DEFENSE. The Spurs scored 117 points. THERE is your issue. How did Thomas do defensively? Held Tony Parker to 10 points on 4/11 shooting. The problem is NOT Isaiah Thomas. The problem is Marcus Thornton is a crap defender, and starting him forces Tyreke Evans to play out of position. Our entire wing core is undersized, leading to dribble penetration.

Until Thornton sucks up his ego and accepts coming off the bench, the Kings are going to suck defensively. We need to roll with a Thomas/Evans backcourt, a real SF, and Thompson/Cousins at PF/C. Until that happens we are NEVER going to be good defensively.

He and IT together in the backcourt is like an open-door policy for the other team's guards. Kinda like how Bibby + DC = Good defense but Bibby + KMart= :(

Gotta agree. I am happy with Isaiah Thomas but undecided about Thornton. Yes, he can light it up and put lots of points on the board BUT he can also be ice-cold, selfish and totally unable to stop a chair, let alone anything faster.
