Spree to San Antonio?

Express-News - Gregg Popovich had a good relationship with Latrell Sprewell when both were in Golden State. When the Spurs discussed trying to trade for Sprewell three summers ago, assistant coach P.J. Carlesimo said he would have no problem reuniting with the player who choked him.

"He's a fantastic competitor," Popovich said. "We've talked about him, and he's somebody I've thought about for a long time. But at this point we're not sure if taking on another person even makes sense or if he'd even be willing to do something like that."

Tim Thomas also is a possible player that the Spurs can sign if he is bought out by Chicago.

Jesus, Spree would be another assassin on the Spurs bench with four of them already on there... I'd like the Spurs even more.

Also just goes to show you, not everyone thinks like some one-dimensonal media people. ;)

Tim Thomas also wouldn't be a bad pick-up.

So since they can only sign him for the minimum how are they going to feed his family?

SA has a good thing going there, they don't need to mess it up with CrimeSpree.

Because I hate him and he's a loser. CrimeSpree wasn't even my name for him:o. I jacked it from pacersdigest. I'm sure Detroit's pushing for this signing...

Sont see why the Spurs need him, at this stage Spree really does not bring much EXCEPT his attitude... Now for a team like LA or even Boston struggling to make the play offs with established starters but thin benches the risk might make sense... might.

I don't see why San Antonio would want to mess up the chemistry of their team with Spreewell. Could you imagine the Coach dressing down Spree in front of everyone during a game like he has with other players. Can you say choke fest?

I think that Pop can beat crap out of Spree

Hopefully Spree will turn the locker room topsy-turvy and give another team a shot of coming out of the West.

Because Spree's a veteran competitor, wants a ring, and based on his previous season, can still produce pretty well, if not better than that. Because of the situation in Minnesota then, was clearly effecting him, as he was up and down.

He'd be good for any team off the bench, especially a top team like the Spurs. For them specifically, would make them even more deadly come play-off time.

Another reason why I don't watch anymore NBA games except for a handful of Kings games. We may as well give San Antonio and LA the glory of being perennial NBA contenders. Not to mention all players whining about wanting to play in NY or LA because of marketshare. Bah who cares anymore.

Lakers haven't been a "perennial contender" since 2004. Likely won't be for a few more years or more.

Sad you don't watch any of the league other than the Kings, missing out on a bunch of great play/players/games in general. As well as the future.

I miss the good rivalries =[

Bulls/Knicks has been revived the last two seasons. Rockets/Spurs, Mavs/Suns. Nuggs/T'Wolves had something going in 2004, but lost it's steam this season, so far. Grizzlies/Spurs has developed into a nice rivalry since 2004. Still the Pacers/Pistons, Heat/Pistons, Spurs/Pistons, Wizards/Bulls since 2004 (playoff series was AWESOME), Lakers/Kings, Pacers/76ers. Rockets/Mavs since 2004.

Sportscenter.

Go Kings. Beat LA.

To me it is sad, lost passion/interest for the National Basketball Association. When there are clearly so many quality players, promising young players, good games, the playoffs, the draft, trades/off-season, and a bunch of good teams.

I didn't mean it in an insulting way. *shrugs*
