16. Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Sacramento: After making a career of being the best player on a bad team, 'Reef finally got to the postseason last year and made the most of it, playing inspired basketball. Maybe Abdur-Rahim has been mired without a steady role for too long, but Eric Musselman will find a way to get healthy production from him. Still just 29, Shareef is more than capable of duplicating his career averages of 19 points and seven boards if he gets consistent minutes.

I wish Sar could get 19 ppg but with a team with Bibby, Artest, and Brad i don't see that happening. At best see him as the 3rd if not 4th opinition avg 15 and 8.

The greatest thing about SAR is that he does whatever he is asked to do. And I haven't forgotten about how he was leading the nba in scoring effeciency before he got injured.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I read the list:
Look at all those good bigs that we don't have.

Shareef's going to have to play TONS of minutes to average 8rpg.

As long as he rebounds I am going to happy.

He will score down low, thats a given.

Rebounding is another thing, though.

If SAR could rebound KT would never play.

Two dreams would come true at the same time!

Did anyone else vote in the poll on that page? Out of KG, DNow and TD who is best PF? I voted KG, but it was interesting to see that it was almost an even split between the three. That would have never happened last year, DNow has seriosly uped his image.

about 35 min is all Sar needs to average 8-10 rebounds. Also if he starts 18 points is not far fetched more like 15 or 16 which is what he averaged before the injury last season.

If SAR had a full year of starting and at starter minutes, I think he'd get 8 RPG. He's not going to get the former though, so middle 6-low 7s RPG is fine.

I don't like defending Kenny but,

The thing is, with Kenny, a whole year of starting with starting minutes, he would average 10 RPG.

I personally like SAR a lot and appreciate all his efforts in trying to play with an injury and without eating. If he tried harder to rebound, he could average around 7 or slightly above.

Thing is - I know what the thing is. ;)

Because KT's naturally a better athlete and more mobile than SAR, and maybe a bit tougher in that area.

They're just different players overall.

He did two seasons in a row with Atlanta/Portland in a less than starter role. We haven't seen him with us have a full season yet (obviously excluding 1 or 2 minor injuries).

I notice KT didn't make the list and is in the "also considered" category....

I think if we can get Shareef into the running and cutting mode he might have a much much easier chance than the iso's he got last season.

how is jamison, boozer, murphy or okafor better than reef? but i love how diaw was described... and how is webber still top 10? love him but really though....

Aside from Webber and Jamison (who I think is more of a three than four), the Kings simply couldn't get any of the other guys in the top ten. Why? Because they're good and their teams wanted/want to keep them. :)

Can't blame them. ;)

Kinda bummer that Reef is 16th..Means 15 teams have better starting PFs than us...

Not that I didnt know that already...

Actually, I thought it was neat that our backup PF was better than most teams starting PF. Pretty good position considering he came off the bench a lot last year.

I don't agree with Diaw being on the list. He isn't a PF/C anywhere but in Phoenix.

Yeah, in general, Diaw is simply a basketball player. Meaning he doesn't have a true position, but I think if you have to put a position on him, it's more of a small foward.

If we were rating on character alone, he would be in the top 5. He is a good guy and I am certainly glad to have him on my favorite team.

Anyhow, top 16... heck that ain't bad at all. Good for him.
