i apologise in advance if this has been already posted, i looked pretty thoroughly.
http://www.82games.com/simmons.htm - the uncredited guys at this website have calculated some pretty unique stats in response to something bill simmons said.
i know not every1 buys into stats, but for those that do here is basically what it reveals about our Kings:
* We seem to be ranked in the middle of the range for blowing leads as a % of leads we have going into the 4th qrtr.
* We seem to be fairly lowly ranked in terms of comeback wins as a % of 4th qrtr deficits.
(the site also compares this to last years stats)
* Our crunch time stats on offense are above the NBA average. We have good FT% in the crunch (about time) and naturally our assists are very good compared to the rest of the league.
* The most surprising and interesting stat i found was that our crunch time defense was ranked 5th in the league! Although we are miles behind the Spurs and lead a very tight pack behind us.
i know stats aren't everyone's cup of tea, because they often do not tell the whole story, but still think its good food for thought.
enjoy.
