Sixth Man Support

Color me impressed!
Keep it up, man.
Yeah it was a good month. Got behind on my guitar stuff because of work but I had to edit a 15 minute video of myself and colleagues and taught myself how to do it in Final Cut Pro which I'm currently demoing and looking at switching off Adobe with the Apple suite. It really feels like my motivation has doubled if not more since cleaning up my diet, trying to get more regular sleep, and spending a chunk of my leisure time on active learning.

oh, and my Timbers band played the season opener party a few weeks ago so while my guitar suffered I did get at least one live vocals gig in the plus column (last year I had two, so I think I can top that).

After two months I was .2 away from a 30lb loss. Which I can probably just call even since I didn't actually get my scale batteries recharged until Jan 2.

I started playing with Claude this week and had it build me a web app that can consolidate all my tracking data in one space, unfortunately the import functions aren't working 100% and I am on time out from the free plan. 🤣 One of the main features I am trying to have it do is to import a picture of me looking rad 10 years ago and having it analyze all my data to estimate when I will fit in all the fancy clothes I bought between 2015 and 2020 but haven't been able to wear since I moved into athleisure full time during social isolation.

On the plus side, my comfortable joggers seem to be drooping quite a bit even when I yank the drawstrings tight. Another month or two and I shall be out of buffet pants for good. 🤞

No I haven't and I've mostly been walking and cycling because work and other commitments which is also why I bought the bands to attempt to squeeze in on my lunch breaks.

strength training at least once a week will go a long way, squeeze it in anyway you can would be my suggestion. 30 to 45 minutes is enough to get positive results

I think I will have my tracker app put warnings for different exercise modalities and if I don't participate in them have it bark at me. NGL, the reason I'm walking so much is I had arbitrarily set an 8000 step goal which for me is about 2.5 miles if I'm at a desk all day.

don't obsess too much about steps, doesn't really mean much as physical movement in different ranges of motions and how much tension you put on your muscles and joints. Stand up desks are a great purchase if you do sit a lot and that way you can alternate

Aside from just enjoying the gamification angle, I am finding I really enjoy the time outside the house when I do it daily. If it didn't feel good I probably wouldn't do it. Helps to have such a nice neighborhood to walk in.

indeed. being outside is always great for overall well being as long as you aren't constantly exposed to sunshine all day. parks and forests, green spaces have been known to boost peoples energy. do you ever go hiking?

That has been one of the benefits of playing Pokemon Go with the kids. I get a lot more steps in for sure.
