Sixers fans @ ISH are suggesting this trade...

Im not sure I like the whole idea. I feel like after this year we'd be able to find someone who brings what dalembert brings for alot cheaper and then still have cap room to burn. Its not that hard to find an untalented bigman that can block shots.

Quite to the contrary, finding one who can do that, has legit size, and is capable of putting up starting numbers is one of the most difficult things in basketball. Once teams get them, they are rarely willing to part with them. 6'6" swingmen are a dime a dozen. 7'0" shotblockers are a rare breed, and they are almost all accounted for.

And in case people are missing this -- the absolute key tothis idea is dumping that long term $5-$6mil contract for a backup PG we are currently shackled into. To get a big shotblocker out of a salary dump is just a nice bonus.

I don't think that Dalembert is the cats meow. But he does bring some things to the table that the Kings need. His average rebound rate is around 17.5 per game. Thats for per 48 minutes. Thats not shabby. He's averaged 1.95 blocks per game per his career. Its hard to know what his entire problem is in Philly. I don't know what they expected him to be, or, what he expected himself to be. But obviously there is a problem. Sometimes when the expectations are too high for a player, he gets the reputation of being an underaccheiver. Could be the case here. I don't know. So there's some risk in bringing someone like him to the team.

There was risk in bringing Webber here. Sometimes the biggest gamble pays the biggest reward. And, sometimes you lose all your chips..

For those interested in his stats.

With Hawes and Thompson being inconsistent (see the Memphis game) which is totally expected for young players, this deal seems more and more appealing...

If Sammy wants to come here and suck so bad he averages 20-10, more power to him.

If by that you mean giving Sammy 25 shots a game (all 20 foot jumpers) a sub 40% FG, does't play any lick of defense, constant nuisance in the locker room, and squashed any hope of being in the playoff; then sure, more power to Sammy.
