Mark Eaton from the Jazz was listed at 7'4" 290lbs. He also had a 10+ years NBA career.
If Sim can trim down to about 310-320 lbs, he could be a player down the road. Watching his videos, he has some offensive talent and of course he is just a huge road block for anyone coming in the lane. If he can trim down and keep the weight down, he could eventually become a starter, playing 25 min a game. He would probably average at least 2-3 blocks per game on sheer size alone.
Not sure if he will ever be mobile enough to be a starter. On sheer immensity he's almost approaching Gheorghe Muresan size. Certainly you'd have to pick your spots/opponents, and run a very structured halfcourt game to ease the transition game for him.
Imagine him on tip offs. we may never loose a tip off again.
He has an almost a 10 foot standing reach, if he can just jumps a little, he should be able to win almost every tip.
Tip offs are especially important in overtime games.
Just standing across from him during tip-offs could intimidate a lot of players. What if he stepped on you after the jump?![]()
Watched him for a few years now as I have been the photographer for the WAC.
The guy is as slow as you can imagine with his size. Didn't seem to have improved too drastically over the years. Interesting note tho, his younger brother who also plays for the NM St is almost as tall as Sim is (7'3"). Though I've never seen him step on the court as a freshman.

Transition lol.

I wonder if they're taking the approach that they did with some of the 10 day contracts this past season? As in not really playing him much, but just evaluate him in practice and being around the team

Any reports on whether we are going to invite him to Sacramento Kings Training Camp? We only saw 3 minute stretches which I understand is because he is not in game shape, but hope he gets a chance to show some of that defense in a preseason game or something.
Strongly suspect that given his nationality and potential marketing appeal we'll have him there, and stash him up in Reno watching a whole bunch of Richard Simmons videos.
^ very likely indeed, given this news:
