C Diddy, it may be too late, but if it means anything...I'd have voted for it. It is wonderful. :D

Things are still progressing. Once the preliminary round is over, we'll proceed to round two...

I'm updating the results right now and will be posting some new polls later today if all goes well.

;)

I'm doing some more updates and will have some more polls tomorrow... stay tuned.

;)

Just updated for more preliminary results...will be adding some more polls this afternoon or evening.

:D

Still more preliminaries out of the way, and still a few more for round one to go...

I just closed four more preliminaries...

I can actually see, I think, the end of round one approaching. I should have more polls posted later this evening, provided we don't start getting thunderstorms in my area. I've learned my lesson after losing a modem to a lightning strike a while back. If there is lightning in the area, the computer is shut down and unplugged from both the power and phone lines.

:D

It vindicates me to hear that. Nobody belives me when I tell them that running a computer durring a lightning storm could be bad.

I've added more results - and will be adding a couple of more polls in a bit.

Okay. I finalized three more and it looks like ONE more first round poll and we'll be entering the second round.

:D

wow!!! thanks for doing all that VF21 :D

it's going to be hard to pick a winner off that list. the semi's are going to be TOUGH!

The preliminary rounds were a way to reduce multiple entrants to one - and occasionally two - titles. The second round will be the first time people go up against each other. In this next round, there will probably be two or three titles from each group that make it to the next round, depending on how the voting goes...

any way to pair up similar titles to face eachother vf21? maybe a few kobe ones together, or something like that?

There are still a number of titles you haven't seen yet, at least in the polls.

Everyone is now on the same footing, more or less, or will be as soon as I close 1:38.

I'm not going to sort the titles by any kind of category, such as Kobe-related or Duncan-related or anything like that. You, the voters, will decide on your favorites. If you like more than one Kobe entry better than anything else, I'll question your sanity but I'm not going to create a scenario where one of them is eliminated right off the bat.

Hope that makes sense...

Okay, that's it.

The first preliminary round - which was held to reduce people with multiple entries to one or two - is now completed.

The second round will consist of entries from the first preliminary round mixed with entries from people who only submitted one or two titles to begin with.

Good luck to everyone!!!

P.S. I'm thinking about making the next round "multiple selection" which means you can vote for one than one option. Then I could take the top entries for the next round.

Any comments?

^^i can see the merit of multiple selection, but wonder if you ought to limit it to say a max of three selections out of every batch of ten (or whatever number you are thinking of listing). Otherwise some people might get a bit carried away and it could distort the results.

Take forever? It's not like we have much else to do right now.

;)

As far as limiting people's choices to 3 or so, it's either 1 or as many as they like. It won't matter in the long run, I don't think, because I'll only be selecting the top two or three vote getters from each poll - regardless of how many votes that ends up being. I'd like to think the majority of people participating in this are doing so with no malice aforethought, so I think we could withstand a couple of jokers in the deck. Of course, if things got too out of hand I could simply close the poll and revert to the original way of doing it. (I have the power...)

:D
