Have you seen the guy lately? He's losing it. Guys who can't handle the ball (he doesn't get to the line as much as he should, low possession player, has one of the lowest turnover rates) and completely rely on their athleticism have this problem once they reach their 30s. All his athletic markers (rebounds, steals, blocks) are down from his prime years. Another troubling sign...the decline in shooting--not only is he not making threes anymore, he's not even taking them to begin with. That being said, he's still a useful 4th or 5th man, as he's still a useful rebounder and still has a reasonable stealing/shotblocking combination (only 7 other SFs had a higher rate of steals and blocks than he did)--but he sorely needs to improve his shooting ability in order to not to go through the precipitous decline into mere hustle player, which doesn't work quite as well once you hit your 30s. He also needs to play at SF more often, because his athletic markers and finishing ability are more in line there--and he's probably best for a team in the playoff hunt where his ability to do the dirty work (albeit at a lesser pace) can still be appreciated--with a noncontending team he's basically irrelevant. So not for us.
