Sharks: Who didn't see this coming?

Sharks are having ANOTHER playoff collapse. Down 3-0 to Chicago in the WCF. Now I remember why I wasn't excited at all for this year's playoffs. I knew it was coming, just a matter of when and to whom.

The Sharks are the NHL's Mavericks. Of course, at least Dallas made it to the Finals.

Yes, I predicted this during the Olympics, though I started giving them a chance after the last round. Ha! I guess I was willing to take anything after the B's stunning exit. 3 of my least favorite teams otherwise. Uggh.

I think it is obvious now - the Sharks are done :( 0-3 is too much to overcome.

I was angry 2 years ago. I was angry last year. This time, I am upset. I don't think that we should bash SJ. They were no joke, they played hard, they eliminated Detroit. IMO it was a good season.

The problem is we have many free agents and we don't know what our team will look like next season. What I am trying to say is I am not sure that we will be good enough in 2010/11.

I'm not even a hockey fan and I saw this coming. Death, taxes, and the Sharks annual promising but ultimately disappointing playoff run.

Tell that to the Flyers. Oh well, at least I have the Red Sox.

Already told them and their answer was that Boston is not Chicago :)

I did not see that coming and the truth is we could have been 2-1 easily. We lost two close games.

Yes, it was our year and that is why it is disappointing. But what can you do? Big Joe is -9, our best sniper Dany Heatley scored 2 goals in 13 games. You do not win if your best players play like that.

Chicago are good, but so are San Jose. I'm a Flyers fan (:D) n Boston n Philly were very evenly matched. Skill wise, so are the Sharks and Hawks. One thing Boston and Chicago have in common is they both rely/relied on young, inexperienced goalies, so you never know (not saying Rask was to blame for the Bruins collapse). It looks hopeless right now, but anything can happen. That's why I'm not getting too excited about the Flyers going up 3-1 today just yet.

IMHO, an average team might win four in a row against another average team. It is less likely to happen when two above-average teams are locked in mortal combat with each other. It is just my opinion. Chicago is too good to lose 4 in a row even to such a good team like SJ.

Anything can happen and, as I said before, SJ could have won 2 games but I just do not see how we can beat them four times in a row. I want them to do it and I hope they prove me wrong. I just do not believe in it.

Oh that's true, but like I said, you never know. 4 in a row is a hard task against the Blackhawks I must say, but beating San Jose 3 times in a row is no walk in the park either, and it happened.

And loss #4 :(

Joe is 0 points, 1 SOG and -2, Heatley is 0 points, 1 SOG and -1.

I guess now we can finally say that Thornton is not a Stanley Cup material. Big players respond to big challenges.

Washington lost to Montreal and Ovechkin had 10 (5+5) points and +5
Pittsburgh lost to Montreal and Crosby had at least 5 (1+4) points and -1
San Jose lost to Chicago and Thornton had 1 (0+1) point and -5
(Joe played only 4 games but it also shows his contributions)

I know it is unfair to put it only on Joe but it happens year after year after year. He is our franchise player, just like Ovechkin and Crosby, and he has to be accountable for the failures. I know that he loves California and the fact that nobody really bothers him. I think it is time to rain down some East Coast, Canadian, European (or whatever you wanna call it) criticism just to wake him up a little bit.
