I'm not sure as far as Shareef is concerned it has anything to do with how enticing Sacramento is.
When the reports first came out that Sac was negotiating with Portland on a S&T with Shareef getting a contract worth $60 million, his agent was qouted as saying that he was unaware of any negotiations going on.
As far as NJ goes, I could see the rational of what goes around, comes around. They didn't want to give what was needed until push comes to shove. I could see the attitude that 'if I wasn't worth a pick, then you aren't worth the loss of 20+ million.' But that is from biased eyes.
In the comparisons to Boozer, he was under contract and he talked the Cavs to release him under the assurance he would come back. Big difference.
Since NJ caved with the pick, the sources have been people with "insight" to the negotiations. The teams may have come to agreement, but what about the player? Either way, it is probably a done deal.
