Here’s the thing no contender is trading a 1st for him, he was getting DNP- coaching choice all playoffs and should’ve as well last year but we’ll Doc. Nobody will be fooled into trading a 1st for him anymore rather get something from Dallas or Philadelphia

It sounds like the Jazz want to free up some cap to resign Conley but this deal (as rumored) doesn't do that as Ingles and Kuzma have around the same salary next year.

I was looking at trade machine and have no idea how we can make salaries work with Philly if simmons isn’t involved. All the salaries are either $30+ mil or like $2 mil. I hear facilitating multiple team trades but that will need a lot of work and possible teams involved might have players playing in Tokyo right now. Don’t get me wrong, I see maxey or thybulle + filler and possibly #28 > kuz and kcp/Harrell + #22, but didn’t see how it happens.
 
There is an article on Kings Herald saying Kings are likely to retain Holmes. That makes me think that Harrell wont be in the deal. They are clones of each other which gives me a bit of pause. Hopefully the Kings are using lakers to build leverage (for once using others to build leverage instead of being used) because KCP is not an ideal fit with the kings given his contract size (albeit good shooter and reasonable defender). We already have wright who is basically KCP for cheaper.

Wright is a PG who can also play SG, while KCP is SG who can also play SF.

You arent the only one that mentioned this as a bad thing. If you have a system that needs all the parts to fit, wouldnt you want the backup to have the same skills as who they are replacing? Sit a pg, replace him with a pg. Sit a 3 pt specialist, replace him with someone who shoots the 3 well. Sit a hustle and energy big man, why not do it with someone who does the same? That way we dont skip a beat. Now this is all assuming our starting 5 is good and work well together.

Some KINGS fans are an odd bunch.

Oh so willing to take other teams trash. Because that player is somehow viewed differently because they aren’t on the KINGS.

Anybody tired of Buddy Hield in SAC hasn’t seen anything yet in comparison to a player like Kuzma.

Anyone interested in the team improving, along with their defense, surely can’t be serious (insert Leslie Nielsen joke here) about Kyle Kuzma.

I get the interest in Harrell — especially considering his history playing against the KINGS — but even he has negatives defensively and isn’t the player he was several years ago.

Lastly, doesn’t anybody find it the least bit telling the the LAL are desperately trying to position themselves for a title run and don’t consider either player worthy of keeping?? All while really wanting Buddy Hield and believing he’d help a lot more??

I hope Monte McNair is smart and wise enough to use the LAL interest in Buddy Hield to drive up interest from other org’s — who not only could use him but are also frightened of LAL getting Buddy — rather than actually considering making a deal with the devil for a pile of trash.
 
FTL. Kings send out the best player on the deal to get back useless "flexible" pieces? The #22 pick is intriguing but not enough compensation to take on Kuzma who crumbles under pressure. Buddy, for all his defensive shortcomings, is clutch and is not afraid of the big moments. Always prefer quality over quantity. You can only put five players on the floor at a time.

He has it 22, Harrell, and (Kuz or Kcp). 22 and Harrell are a part of the deal. Kuz or KCP is up to the Kings.

this is hilarious we’re balance out team with two srubs one in Kuzma who we’ll have to pay while losing an elite shooter. But than again you can’t talk yourself into any trade if you want too

And that might be exactly what he's doing. Sorry, a number 22 pick in a draft where many of the prospects possibly going in the 2nd round have just as much upside is NOT the clincher.

I'd say this, see how it plays out, if there is a dropper at 22 like Trey Murphy III, perhaps you consider it.

If they are deciding between the two I'd say KCP is the more Monte-esque player. We know Kuz is the player that Walton pushed up above Julius Randle and Ingram. Both players who proved to be stars once they got away from that situation. No thank you.

And they go on to have one of the best, most balanced trio's and the Kings have two players that are more PF's than SF's in Kuz/Barnes and potentially a Sengun at 9 as a 3rd big. The good thing is that means Dumars days are ticking down because it's a total Mully/PDA chain of events down to the T and even they eventually got tossed because of those moves that didn't seem to make sense. Like drafting to SG's in back to back drafts with lottery picks. Firing Malone. Nah, Monte has to be better than this if he has power.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me about the #22 pick. YAWN :rolleyes:

While turning any draft pick into gold is always possible (e.g. Isaiah Thomas at #60), getting #22 is nowhere near valuable enough to prioritize having in any potential deal.

It’s a complete unknown. And not even a lottery pick. In a draft that is widely seen as 5 players deep then everyone else.

What the LAL are reportedly offering would be equate the KINGS trading a $50 bill for a $20 and $5 worth of lottery scratchers hoping you get lucky.

And I can’t keep stressing this enough — you shouldn’t ever trade with a hated rival unless it’s heavily tilted in your favor. The reported offer doesn’t remotely come close to that.

If the LAL really want Buddy Hield, McNair needs to make them drastically overpay. However, beyond their top 2 players, they lack anything worthwhile to overpay with. No premier draft capital, no worthwhile young talent.

Montrezl and KCP are ok, but neither are centerpieces to a trade. Neither is #22.
All 3 might be ok in a potential deal if the team were Charlotte or New Orleans. But when it’s LAL involved — that ain’t nowhere near enough to land arguably the best volume perimeter shooter not named the Splash Brothers.
