well, i just want to thank VF21 for ruining my night haha...i'll be up all dang night hitting the refresh button on espn.com hoping to hear if we've hired anybody yet...

LOL... I can't stop coming back. But it's 11:30 at night, and it's obvious VF won't reveal the source at 1 in the morning. Get some sleep, should be interesting tomorrow. Altough, I have a bad feeling about this, for some reason, I have gotten a bad vibe from VF, I can't quite put my finger on it. (Yes I know, nothing has been said, but I just got this feeling from the response I got. I don't know why)

Mario Elie was interviewed today, right? They said on KHTK during the Monarchs game that Whisenant hadn't been interviewed yet, so my guess is Elie impressed them enough to stop interviewing.

well the time of day they release the name will speak volumes to the Maloofs confidence in the decision. In politics you ALWAYS release bad news late on Firday after the bulk of the press have left for the weekend. ;)

Just another crap move... Wow, I've got a real bad taste in my mouth... I'll be the first to eat crow if he does well, but I'm definitely not digging this move at all. Damn, I knew I had a bad feeling!

Well as a Monarchs fan, I hate it. Why compromise our team just for the sake of the Kings? I love the Kings as much as the next fan, but this is like picking one of your children over another.

Right now I can't even think what this would mean for the Kings, all I know is that the Defending champion Monarchs have just started their season and now could be without one of the major pieces of their success. :( Say that VF21 source is correct and up to this point we don't have any reason not to believe it becasue its been on the money in the past, what does this mean? Would he immediately vacate his seat has Monarchs GM and coach to take the reigns of the Kings?

Remember, the Maloofs have said publicly they would be very involved in the decision because it "affects the future of the franchise." They were also quoted as saying once the decision was made, they would step back and let the new coach and Petrie do their jobs.

I'd just like to know what Petrie's job is going to be...

I sure hope this turns out better than my worst fears.

One thing to think about? Maybe the Maloofs won't want to make it official since it's out on the Internet and they'll change their minds.

I wouldn't mind a little egg on my face if it meant a different selection...

Is there ANY possibility of this not going down? Yes. Do I think there's much reason to believe it won't? Nope.

But, as I said above, I won't mind egg on my face at all if something does happen and he's not named the coach.
