Right... but Carter and Lewis don't fit our roster. We need a PF/C and a backup PG, or two PGs if Bibby walks. We might be able to get a fine PF/C in the draft, unless the team rallies us into a 11th-13th pick, as many seem to expect. What then?
FA bigs are Varejao, Mihm, Brezec, and several guys in walkers. Ryan Gomes and Ronny Turiaf are at least semi-available, but not really big enough to suit our needs.
FA PGs are Billups (assuming he takes his ETO), Mo Williams, maybe Boykins... and a number of oldsters or Hart clones.
And all of the NBA is going to be fighting over those guys.
If we wound up with Varejao, Williams and some money left over, that would be great -- but it also seems quite unlikely. So no, I can't get very excited about this year's FA market.
And what if Bibby and Muss both stay? Yuck!
