No kidding? When did that happen? Okay, so I just admitted that I didn't watch it.

I'm not exactly sure when but I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. The show was put up against the 11pm EST Sportscenter most of the time..

Why the Kings do it. The Kings who aren't going anywhere this year get a huge expiring contract to build the team of the future through free agency. Why the Magic does it. The Magic now have a "still in his Prime" clutch shooting , playoff tested point guard to lead a young team come playoff time.
The only thing wrong with this is that you really cant depend on Grant Hill. Way to many injuries to trade him for Bibby. We can get better than that im sure. a few other PG's out there (Rondo from Boston or even Gibson From Cleveland) that wouldnt be a straight up trade of course though
It would be nice if the Kings could work it that way. But I could only imagine that with the long termers that the Kings would want to move, it would be the Kings sending the pick(s) and/or kids. I am thinking that they are putting word out that they are willing to take someones upper tier disgruntled vets where things aren't working out for a hefty price in terms of picks and/or kids. That would fit the Kings except what the Kings have to offer isn't necessarily upper tier (with the exception of maybe Bibby). You're not trading for Grant Hill the player -- indeed I think he retires at the end of the year, unless he does the go catch on with a contender to get a ring thing.
You're trading for his giant ending contract, and might be able to liquidate TWO of your long termers via him, + try to work in a pick or kid from Orlando in the deal. Think much depends on whetehr Orlando's little taste of success this year has made them impatient or not. Originally I thiik they wanted to hold onto Hill so they could be free agent players themselves, hold onto their youth so they could be factors in a few years. But maybe now they sense they can be good now and kicking into win now mode. If so, Hill's big ender is certainly one of the more intiguing trade assets any of the win now playoff teams might have to part with.
Bibby/Pota/Hart for Hill/Jameer or Hill/Arroyo/1st would be really really great for the Kings.
At least if they did that then we would know they are rebuilding and there is hope for the future.

Nothing specific; he says the Magic wants to move Grant Hill, the Kings want to move Bibby ... d-oh!

The only problem is I don't see why Orlando would want another PG. They already have Nelson.
I think Orlando has been mildly disappointed by Nelson this year -- he hasn't really taken a step forward like they thought they would. They're trying to compete for the playoffs and they might want a veteran point guard to go with Howard.
i could see bibby fitting in well with orlando, to be honest. despite his horrible performance this season, bibby is still one of the best point guards in the league. he's still a smart ballplayer and very capable of being a positive piece on a competitor. a bibby/howard pick and roll might be very deadly. howard doesn't play in the high post like webber, so it'd be a strictly low-post play...but it'd definitely take some of the pressure off bibby as a shooter. not to mention howard's got hands. he's like webber on crack...just without the midrange shooting ability.
And Mo Williams here we come.
Why all the Bibby hate?
Mike Bibby is a fanatastic player and very very clutch. It's not like he's on the downslide of his career, he is still young. there are not many good PG's out there that we can get. He has been dissappointing this season, but that doesn't take anything away from him being a terrific player. he can shoot jumpers, hit threes, assist, and do it all in crunch time. he is arguably the best player on our team, it would be a very bad idea to let him go. how many times have we seen him come through for us. how many times has he pulled us through the playoffs, and have you all forgotten what he did in the lakers series? thus i ask, why all the bibby hate. it's the players around him who are holding the team back.
many people on here agree that we need to rebuild by going young, getting good draft picks, etc. Bibby just doesn't fit that. he's not enough of a leader to really help develop young guys, but he's enough of a leader to really contribute on a playoff team. plus, getting rid of him clears cap space. if the Kings do rebuild and they want to spend $12-13 million a year for a good veteran point guard, then it should be on Chauncey Billups when he becomes a free agent this summer, not Bibby. that's my opinion at leastwell why do ppl want him out of here?

Screamin' A. Smith
his contract, his recent play, his style of play, wanting to rebuild and start over, wanting to get what he can give us in a trade... shall i go on? just because the reasons may not be clear to you, that doesn't mean they hate him. i'm in favor of trading bibby but he's one of my favorite players.
