It really is. Proposing a God leaves you with exactly the same problem. There's nothing wrong with saying we don't know yet. We're getting closer, and people are now reduced to a God of the Gaps. But I digress. Best to leave this discussion.
Though I don't think this would have even got this far if people weren't being so PC.
I don't see whats so logically inconsistent about saying that we don't know how God created the universe and are slowly filling in gaps of our knowledge. You can't logos your way into saying God does or does not exist. And if you, as a creature of logic, can accept that conclusion, why do you consider it so ridiculous if someone believes one way or another?
And again, I reiterate, you are not religious so you don't understand the significance religion plays in people's lives. Its a hot-button issue, much like politics. Hence the rules
