Obviously, my info about the name is wrong, but can anyone explain the concept anyway. The names don't matter, the question does. Traded, let go, regardless of the circumstance, can someone please answer the question - intelligently!

I don't know that there is an "intelligent" answer to that question. Adelman is known for playing 7 or 8 guys so eventually those at the end of the bench will end up somewhere else. Sometimes they end up doing well, but for every one that does well somewhere else, there are about 5 that are sitting at home on their couches eating Cheetohs.

You're all right that we've let go of some great talent. No doubt about it.

But the original post was about guys who don't get a significant amount of play time. In Slim's list, that leaves GW and maybe House. Hedo has gotten more PT in recent years, but when he was with us, he was still fairly inexperienced...even then, he got a pretty decent amount of PT.

You actually gave us something to smile about - and around here that hasn't been happening much. There's no need to take it personally.

Why do players who don't get much time here go elsewhere and become stars? Pretty vague question...

Not all players are a fit for every team. Sometimes there is so much talent at the front end of the roster that the guys at the other end don't get much chance to shine.

And, to be fair, there are guys who didn't get much time here who have dropped off the face of the map entirely - or might as well. Mateen Cleaves isn't exactly lighting up the scoreboards on a nightly basis. I don't remember reading very much about Rodney Buford. Erik Daniels hasn't been on SportsCenter lately.

One reason guys who didn't see much PT here go on to success elsewhere is because Geoff Petrie is very good at spotting talent. Unfortunately, there have been times when we've really had TOO MUCH talent to be able to fully utilize.

I'm pretty sure you could pick some players from almost any team in the league that didn't do well until they had moved a time or two. Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie and Bonzi Wells immediately come to mind.
