I'll apologize ahead of time if I get too emotional for some, but this game is so much tougher to watch than I thought it would be. I've felt the gamut of emotions over the years watching the Kings, but I've never sat before cheering for the team with tears streaming down my face.
We do not deserve to lose our Kings. I don't care if it is a business; a business depends on customers and we, the customers, have proven that we can and will support this team through thick and thin. If there's any balance in the universe, this cannot be the last game of the Sacramento Kings. We have earned one more chance for us, our team and for our region. And yes, it's a regional thing - not just a Sacramento thing.
It's been a long time since I sat in my living room with a Kings jersey on, and the magic purple slippers some of you may recall on my feet. But they're there, along with my Kings blankey on my lap and my Kings ceramic mug full of my beverage of choice. This is karma - and it should count for something.
I know that life isn't always fair, but I think the universe owes us one.
