Sacramento Free Agency <crickets chirping>

Reports coming out that Chicago may actually match that ridiculous Asik offer. As I said back when that offer was made, if they match it they may need to find a way to unload Noah. Noah remains a nearly perfect fit next to Cousins. But this TRob PF/SF question then becomes even more important.

They are also actively shopping Rip, which is no surprise. Thornton for Noah? But that only helps their finances a little. And wiht no Korver to potentially throw in our shooting goes backward, not forward.

It looks like the only players left that would be a remotely good fit are Aaron Brooks and Brandon Rush. I'm not even sure about Brooks either. Would he be that much of an upgrade? I'm not so sure. Rush on the other hand is a good defender who is an excellent 3 point shooter who can play SF. The only problem is we would add another 6'6" and under player to our roster.

Who btw has in the past called Sacramento the worst city in the NBA.

It doesn't take one to see that you went back on your statement within minutes...

Where I come from "I'm calling" doesn't mean "I'd love to see"

but I wont lose any sleep over a semantics show down on a basketball forum.

for the record i've no interest in seeing Metta back here, i mentioned it on another thread as a joke and continued it here.

you guys are acting like Petrie will actually fill a need........hahaha......come on'

Logic had not been Petrie's (strong) suit since he traded Webber.

Petrie has always had an affinity for Aaron Brooks, but some reason I see the kings ending up with Gilbert Arenas.....because we are the place where players of ethical questions shine, that is what we are known for now!

our "MAY" have something in the next few days is signing J. Akognon to the fall training camp

Or as Jason Jones says it: we "HOPE" to have something is (probably going to be): Akognon to fall camp

So "I'm calling him" means "you don't want him here" where you are from? You can see how that is a stretch for anyone to follow...

Jeez, why do you keep harping on him when you're the one who misunderstood. Did you really think he meant, "I'm placing a telephone call to Metta"? That's not what I read. "I'm calling Metta" means "I'm saying Metta [will be the one they sign]" or "I'm guessing Metta [will be the one they sign and if he is I called it first]".

It may not have been a stretch for you to misunderstand, but he already explained to you what he meant, so why do you keep pushing it?

If nobody on this board spent time predicting things they didn't want to happen, there would be about four total posts a day.

that's how i understood it. just a prediction probably made in jest

I think it's been explained but calling, is just another word for guessing. You know like, "I'm calling heads" when you flip a coin.

If i wanted him to play here again i'd just say i did, I wouldn't change my opinion just to follow the crowd on a forum lol.

I'm not saying it'd be a good thing, I'm just saying thats my guess.

Josh Childress just got amnestied so there's another name.

Ron Tru Warier Metta World Peace Artest will NOT be returning to the Sacramento Kings. You can take it to the bank. Period.

Why? He was an embarrassment to the Maloofs, and in particular Mama Maloof, when he was here the first time. He will not get another chance to do the same thing again. They can do that stuff themselves.

Now that's a suggestion I'd actually be considering.

My apologies UK_King. I was under the impression that you would like to actually call him using a phone to get him to come to the Kings. Sorry for misunderstanding.

hmm sf that is...
overpaid? check
well past his prime? check
ability for smart to play out of position? check
sounds like a possible petrie move but i doubt it since there are so many other bad-mediocre sf left in the free agency pool that we will probably overpay for to add to our collection of small forwards.

james johnson

called it!!!

ok maybe being a bit harsh. i dont know too much about his game but feel a bit underwhelmed with the pick up. 30% 3pt shooting and big enough that smart might play him at the 4. i seriously believe 2.8 million of cap room could have been spent elsewhere but hey, why spend 2 million on hayward or brand when you can spend an extra 800k and a 2nd rounder for another mediocre sf?

So did the Kings spend all their capspace to become a 30 win team?

Vets sign where they want to and Jamison is an example of that. When a Team has control of where they trade a player look to GSW sending Dorell Wright to the Eastern Conference as an example. Does GSW want to see Wright rain threes on them more often than needed?
