I've mentioned before that I met Jones at a pre-draft workout a couple of years ago. He was arrogant, he was self-absorbed and he treated me with pretty obvious disdain as I was there representing a mere fan board. He made it clear then he's a Laker fan and I don't think that's changed at all. It's not that he doesn't have a love for the game as much as he doesn't have any interest in anything from Northern California except for a paycheck.

I have no respect for him or his "talents" whatsoever and am not surprised that he's showing himself via Twitter to be exactly who he appeared to be a couple of years ago. Personally, I miss the days when Mark Kreidler was the beat journalist for the Kings. His stuff was always on track and showed a respect for the game, the players AND the fans that is sorely lacking in many journalists today.

I can echo all that based on several "encounters" with him at summer league this year on press row. Arrogant, not friendly while I was pleasant and polite. He writes about Kings because he HAS TO and only once in awhile. Sam Amick is the real Kings voice and he works for SportsIllustrated!!!! I love forum for all Kings interaction and opinions but for team-player info have to go to Sactown Royalty and to twitter. Bajaden monitors all relevant twitter accounts to piece together the overall situations about Kings and players.

This how it's going to go for any newspapers not in large cities. It's totally decentralized. Joe Schmoe can find a story, bring a handheld camera, shoot it, and put it up on youtube, and write an article. Now, you can't even make money with traffic and ads because everybody is getting adblocking software. You could see all this coming, but it's still fascinating to watch it all play out. Going online subscription though is probably there best bet for any kind of long term survival. You just can't make money on banner ads anymore. I never see ads on any website, even Espn, etc., I block them on my computer. Ads are done.

i got it today. what are my other options now the one paper that covers the kings is charging in terms of news and write ups ?
