Sac/Knicks:

bajaden

Hall of Famer
Here's a minor deal that works on ESPN's trade checker. Its strictly a trade for the future that wouldn't help us that much now. I liked this guy in college, but I knew he was raw with only five years of orginized basketball under his belt. Apparently he's on the market as the Knicks are trying desperately to unload salary for next offseason.

Kings in: Jordan Hill, 6'11" PF/C

Knicks in: Sergio Rodriguez

Hill would get a chance to play with us and would at least give us one more big man with some potential. He was a very good offensive rebounder in college. And while not showing much in the way of shotblocking so far in the NBA, he was a pretty good shotblocker in college. And to be fair to him, he just hasn't gotten that many minutes.

Wow, this would be an awesome trade even though I am not a big fan of Hill. I read a rumor that the knicks were using Hill as a trade bait to get McGrady.

I would love to see a deal like this go down, however I just dont think the Knicks are THAT desperate, to give up a former lottery pick for sergio. If Petrie were to make this deal I would be shocked....Jeff Pendergraph for Jon Brockman and Jordan Hill. wow.

seems like NY will only discuss Hill if you take back Jeffries or Curry to clear cap space.

Jeffries + Hill for KT might be more realistic.

Meh.

I've been an Arizona fan almost as long as I've been a Kings fan so I'd welcome him, even though I thought he came out early, in a few years he could be a contributor. If we aren't going to get anything for KT may as well stretch that contract money out a few years if we can add a guy like Hill in the process.

yeah this would fill a need. Still would like to see a NOC dump though.

As much as I'd have to hold my nose, a Curry for Noc/Hilton trade works.

We of course would clear minutes for Greene and Casspi and shorten the years on Noc's contract before he becomes completely untradable. We'd also get a huge 11M expiring contract for 2011 (which we currently have none of).

Maybe as a last resort. I bet NY would do it...

Noc's contract declines in value so I suspect he'll be easier to move as time wears on.

Would love to move him but I am not sure its in the cards.

The point of my proposal was that I was keeping it simple. I don't want Curry. NY wants to rid itself of salary. It knows that only an idiot would take on Curry's contract. If they want to move Hill, then we can offer them a way to do it. If not, then we move on. I don't want their trash. I want a young player with Potential. That was the point of this proposal.

Fair enough. If that was the simple deal offered then I don't think there would be a Kings fan out there opposed.

Regarding the alternate deals: yes-nobody really wants NYs garbage. However, we have our own garbage too...it just stinks a little differently.

Nocioni hurts development of other players, costs a lot, and does not have a trade friendly contract. Curry does not hurt development of other players, costs more for less time, and will be a major trade chip starting in July this year. Which garbage do you want?

That was the point of my proposal ;)
