S Van Gundy New coach of Magic

I don't care about SVG anymore. He was fickle with us, and I him. Screw him- I know what this franchise is, and I know what it can be. All things considered, I am proud to be a Kings fan. Everything in Orlando seems so unbelievably artificial, no matter what it is. His loss.

He'll be looking for work again in less than four years, so maybe he'll remember us.

You have shown why history can at times be a very depressing subject.

Very true, but for every one thing listed in that post, I can come up with at LEAST five good things in our recent history.

For me, the bottom line is THEY ARE STILL THE KINGS. I AM STILL THEIR FAN. ALL WILL BE WELL IN THE KINGDOM AGAIN. . . eventually:D .

Agreed we're all Kings fans here... well almost all of us. However, I have to really tax my memory to come up with "at LEAST five good things in our recent history." I can only think of one at the moment.

1.) Musselman you're fired!

That is why I said recent HISTORY. I have decided to basically block out all of last season and portions of the previous one!!:D Trust me, selective memory is that best!!!

Heat Receive Compensation For Van Gundy
7th June, 2007 - 7:17 pmPress Release -
The Miami HEAT announced that former Head Coach and current Consultant to the Head Coach Stan Van Gundy has been released from his contractual obligations in order to become the Head Coach of the Orlando Magic . In return for releasing Van Gundy from his HEAT contract, Miami obtained draft picks and future compensation from the Orlando Magic .

“I’m happy that Stan is back in coaching,” said HEAT President and Head Coach Pat Riley. “It’s where he belongs. Stan has been an incredibly loyal and gifted member of the HEAT family for the last 12 years and we will miss him. I spoke with Stan last evening and I know he wanted to go to Orlando. So, I’m happy that’s where he ended up.”

“Regarding the compensation, the Orlando Magic are getting the best young coach in the NBA,” stated Riley. “As a director competitor in our division, they were going to have to compensate us for that. And they did. Micky and I wish Stan, Kim and their family all the best.”

In exchange for releasing Van Gundy, the HEAT obtained Orlando’s first pick in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft (39th overall selection). Miami also received the right to exchange first-round picks in the 2008 NBA Draft provided that Orlando’s first-round pick is not among the first 14 selections in the 2008 NBA Draft. If Orlando ’s pick is among the first 14 selections or if Miami chooses not to exchange first-round selections in the 2008 NBA Draft, the HEAT will instead receive Orlando’s own second-round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft and future compensation.

Riley = hardcore.

^Wow, that is a whole lot to give up.

Gotta beware Riles -- he saw them desperate and went in for the kill + bent them over the barrel. Still might work out to only two second rounders + something unspecified, but you could also have a scenario where they get a pretty good 2nd rouonder (#39) pull off a trade for Artest or Bibby, make other moves, bounce back up to ECF status with 55+ wins, and get to swap their #26 pick or whatever for Orlando's #16.

So Brick who is our next coach? Rambis since he was the only one with the second interview or do we look toward Carlisimo.

I don't know how much this means to anybody but, i was looking up a few things on Carlisimo and found a Houston msg board and they were really fired up with Jeff Van Gudy fired that they would go after PJ. In fact most were disappointed about Adleman and said "RA is not an improvment over JVG."

i want next season's Kings vs. Magic final box score to look somewhat like this:

"In an unusual move,Orlando head coach Stan Van Gundy decided to fiddle with his lineup and moved 3 starters to the bench, including Dwight Howard. "I thought we needed to change our strategy, and I also thought starting JJ Reddick, Bo Outlaw, and Pat Garrity would produce against their zone. Maybe it just wasn't the right gameplan, said the newly acquired Gundy.""

final score: SAC 113 ORL 87

I've mentioned putting GP on the bench a few times, but never could whoop up much support for it. I guess people figure it would be cruel and unusual punishment for the Kenny Thomas trade.

im looking for a white on white kings hat that had pinstripes.... anyone know who makes it or where to find it? it was a pro or fitted hat

Whew... Now if you have to add #18 to your list; "Not able to find my favorite Kings hat" - that's almost suicidal:eek: Best of luck!

well how bout when something good actually happens i will remove one of the bad things like when i find my fav. kings hat since that looks most likely to be the first good thing to happen now
