The entire reason we are talking about trading Thompson is because he was involved in a trade proposal for Gibson and Afflalo. Why don't you read the entire conversation before replying next time.

Please read what I said. Is Thompson the player a problem? No. I happen to like him as a player. I like what he brings and think he is a good third big. Is Thompson's contract a problem? Yes. When you have almost $22 mil invested in your two starting frontcourt players (Cousins and Gibson). It's not very practical to have your third big making $6 mil.

For sure! Typically we on this site we can come to some consensus as to why a move was made, even a bad one. However this one has left everyone continuing to ask why. Is there anyone that is willing to ask the front office why? Carmichael Dave hasn't even asked, although I'm guessing he wants to maintain the good relationship he has with the team. There really is no logical explanation. It doesn't even have to do with the injury, even if he plays all season he isn't worth that deal. Makes you wonder if Landry was simply one of Ranadive's favorite players on the Warriors and he wanted him. If so it's another example as to why owners shouldn't be too involved in these things, this is just speculation though.

I think they believed it would be simpler to move JT, and they simply liked Landry better as a player. That simple. Harder to understand than the move itself is how it persists as the second biggest gripe at PDA even though he hasn't even hardly played yet - and why Tyreke and Landry can't just be freaking water under the bridge at some point. I'm tired of these mediocre players being signed because they are "good leaders", "good locker room guys", and "good influences". Chuck Hayes was supposedly a good leader too. However leadership is made on the court, from guys who win or have won and were at least somewhat responsible for that winning. Good influences don't make teams good. Good players make teams good and they become the good influences. I hope our front office can understand that.

Unfortunately, this is the big leagues, it's not about feeling comfortable, it's about winning. I'm somewhat amazed that Felton is moveable. I think he still has gun charges pending that could void his contract if found guilty.

I'll also add that this means that Melo is gone from NY. Chandler was the only thing holding that team together on defense. Dalembert is a serviceable rim protector, but is hardly an anchor. I would say that it's time to raid the store on the Knicks, but there isn't really anything on that team worth going after.
