Starting to see glimpses of his skill now. Very agile, great passing instincts. Of course, there was never really any question as to the man's talent.

I'd like to see him pursue shot attempts more for rebound chances. Looks like he might have that habit of "assuming" and starting a backpedal early.

Yeah, that's where pairing him up with a Reggie Evans might work. Royce isn't a fantastic rebounder but he's good at everything Reggie isn't

Box score line looks really good for White. 6pts, 3 asts, 2 rebounds on 3 shots. Anyone who caught the first half comment on his D?

CrownDowntown is in Reno to watch the game. Hopefully, Mike or Lynne or someone will be able to fill us in a little bit on White.

It looks decent so far. He had a nice shot block.

Doesn't appear to have full game type cardio shape yet, so of course that is limiting how hard he can try to go at it

After watching this second game I can tell White belongs in the NBA by him being a selfless player. Although towards the end of the game White flat out left his man a few times on defense. He didn't even try to get back and this resulted in really easy layups. The kind of layup that Coach Malone would take a time out instantly. On the other hand it could be that He was totally gassed.

The guy has the ability to be a great team guy in terms of the way he plays kind of like a Boris Diaw, the guy is a above average talent he has natural abilities a lot of players wish they had combined with his size the guy has more than enough physical ability/skills to be a solid player for well over a decade it all comes down to can he actually get on the court and deal with his mental issues.

He was the player I was most looking forward to watching coming out of college that year I loved what I saw from him but it sucks things have turned out the way they have mainly due to him. Hopefully he can get it together I love watching players with interesting skill sets who play team basketball.

Obviously White is out of shape, which is no surprise. I have no doubt about his talent. As I said in an earlier post, he was almost like having another PG on the floor, and in my opinion, he was the best passer on his team. Very smart player! I've always seen him as one of those players that makes everyone else better just by being on the floor. He may not have a bunch of overwhelming stats at the end of the game, but you just won. I hope he can get it together, if not for us, for some team. He's a very talented kid.

I see the Anthony Mason comparison, but to me White looks more like a young Jason Kidd in a bigger body. His ability to pass the ball at his size is quite different from most players in the league. I saw an interview on him and all He would talk about was making the right play. Hopefully it works out because we could really use more pass first players on the Kings.

Not quite he defender Mason was but that is a good comparison including the body type and skill set.

I saw Anthony Mason sitting on a bench at Arden mall back in the 90's. Those benches sit two normal sized adults comfortably, three can fit but you will be touching. He was sitting in the dead center of the bench and he might have been able to squeeze a toddler on one side and a chihuahua on the other.

I wouldn't imply, that he was fat, if I were you. :p

I haven't seen anything in Royce White that is any better than what the rest of the Reno Bighorns has. I say cut the man.

Trent Lockett continues to look like a guy who will eventually find a roster spot in the NBA. Really not sure why the Kings haven't pulled him up at some point in the season.

Now that's the kind of patience I'm talking about!

You usually can see SOMETHING or catch a glimpse of something when watching even if it's only a few games you've watched. What I was saying is that he has SO FAR shown my nothing that every other player on the DLEAGUE team hasn't shown me.

Thought Royce looked good tonight as he has for most of the week with the Bighorns. The thing I really like about him is that he doesn't force the action and seems to be looking for the pass more than the shot. On a team featuring one of the most selfish point guards in the NBA and two other dudes who gobble up most of the possessions, this is probably a good thing. He was very passive on the boards tonight (something his admitted after the game) but continued to display good instincts on defense. Ultimately, I think Royce is one of those guys whose game is better suited for NBA basketball than it is for D-League or Summer League when games tend to devolve into an every-man-for-himself-style heroball fest.

To be honest, I'm still going on what I saw out of him in college. I'm willing to cut him some slack right now, because he's bound to have a ton of rust on him, and not be in playing shape. If he had played in the D-League all year and still looked bad, then I'd move on. But I know he has the skills, although, one might question his dedication for not being ready to contribute, despite his roller coaster ride so far. If I'm trying to apply for a job, I don't show up in jeans and a tank top.
