At the time of the draft, it widely thought that Charlie V going that high was insane. Additionally, Toronto already had used its previous years picks on players who play the same position as him. He had the body and skills to be good, but he never showed much desire or heart. I think that the thought of him being picked too high has made him play with a chip on his shoulder to try and prove that he deserved to be taken so high.
