There might be an opportunity for us here. Chicago now needs a starting PG. Their core pieces are Jimmy Butler at SG, Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic at PF, Robin Lopez at C, and Mike Dunleavy and Doug McDermott at SF. Would they take an offer of Rudy Gay and Darren Collison for #14 and Bobby Portis? This would be a salary dump for us, but we'd pick up a young stretch 4 and an additional draft pick while clearing about 17 million in salary. Neither player seems to be in our long-term plans anyway, so if we can pick up some assets for them now and add to our cap space pot that's a win-win right? Chicago gets two starters at positions of need -- one of which they already tried to trade for a few months ago -- and we get more money to throw at the free agent SF,PF, SG or PG of our choice.
