Rockets sputtering...

To clear up the Hummer issue-- Bron's mom took out a loan to buy the Hummer for Bron; there was nothing illegal about it. It was a gift for his 18th birthday.

Now, he did get into some trouble for accepting some throwback jerseys from a local shop in exchange for pictures. He gave the jerseys back but was still suspended from playing Basketball for the rest of the season. He had about a month left.

The difference between this and the case with the Fab Five is he wasn't looking to retain his amateur status beyond High School. Once he graduated, he is no longer bound to any amateur gaming rules.

heh...in 2 more years he will be better than every single player in the nba. the kid's just gonna be good. it dont matter how much anybody likes him, how many hummer's he accepted as gifts in high school, or how over-hyped anybody thinks he was. he is the next big thing. plain and simple. yao ming may have been overhyped, but everybody knew he was an investment project. same thing with darko milicic. lebron james, on the other hand, is what ya call instant talent. he enters the nba, and he's a star. his numbers show it. just look at them: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/lebron_james/index.html

he's impressed me so far. neither michael jordan or kobe bryant came into the nba and had such an immediate impact for their team. tho it didnt really matter for either, cuz they both went on to win several championships. i hope lebron has the opportunity to win a few as well.
--Well said, since I got league pass, the Cavs are one of my favorite teams to watch. The guy is just phenomonal, and so grounded. He really lets the game come to him.

vladetomiller - you don't really have a clue how good or let me say GREAT LeBron James is....

If your not impressed of LeBron, you don't like NBA basketball!

We didn't trace Jackson; he left for more money.

And, I'll ask again: where does that leave David Wesley? Why should he have to suffer just because McGrady is a prick, and Jackson is a surly curmudgeon?
forgive the late question, but I thought we never made him an offer. The impression I got was that he was left dangling.

And if he's on the market, we need to snap him up ASAP, IMHO.

Uh...wouldn't that be the point? You take a team that would be lucky to win 25, add in one LeBron, and voila, 2nd best record in the East.

2nd in the east..... the kings are 4th in the west, play in a harder division and still have a better record.... we'd be killing ourselves if the kings had the cavs record.....

word. i tip my hat to cavs management. in just 2 seasons, they have surrounded lebron with quality players. no real standouts, no other stars, but quality players. theyre coming along...especially considering where they've been.

Um...we weren't comparing teams. Or actually maybe we were. The mere fact that Cleveland can even belong on the same floor as the Kings is entirely 100% the responsibility of LeBron James. That's a superstar.

How many games, East or not, would this team win:

C -- Big Z
PF - Gooden
SF - Newble
OG - Snow
PG - McInnis
6th - Harris
7th - Traylor
9th - Diop

etc. etc.

Then take that same squad. Add one guy who just turned 20 yesterday, and voila! Potentially a 50 win team???

But i dont see them being hyped as much as bron has been, i havent even seen this much hype with kobe or garnett when they came in. This is just surreal
It's not even close in most of those matchups. Are you auditioning for Hater of the Year?
