Richard Hendrix waived by Golden State

Yeah, I was thinking of Hardin...How does Hendrix stack up? Looks like he's a good rebounder, but a poor finisher. Looks like Hardin signed in Turkey?

isnt he short for pf though?

Yes, there may be some Shelden syndrome. But on the other hand, there's always Millsap as a more positive role model for the stocky and height-challenged PF's out there. :)

I would take a flyer on him. Somebody will.

He was rock solid consistent in college, but suffered from the undersized-unathletic big man stigma. Actually, his types are actually quite popular in the NBA, with guys like Carl Landry, Leon Powe, Craig Smith, Brandon Bass and a slew of others becoming solid offensive minded undersized players who are pedestrian defensively. Hendrix seems to be putting up #'s too--maybe a chance is all he need. I don't think he's too offensively polished as those guys though, but who knows?

I still remember when he tried to enter the draft out of high school, even, but that's another story.

I wouldn't have a problem with picking him up. I just don't know how he would fit in right now. We've all been complaining about not enough playing time for our young bigs, so how do we fit one more in? It would seem to me you would have to get rid of someone.

As for Hendrix himself, I liked him in college, and I don't get caught up in the unathletic or undersized thing. If you can play, then you can play. Being tall and athletic is certainly an advantage, but there has been a good percentage of those players that never lived up to expecations. By the same token there has been a good number of undersized players that have become stars.
