I was wondering if anyone else attended the Reggie Theus appearance in Roseville.
My fiancée Monica and I made the drive to Roseville to meet Theus. I would say about 25 to 30 people showed up.
Theus was very, very friendly and approachable. He signed a jersey and basketball for us and took pictures with us (twice to make sure they came out good).
I asked Theus for a small favor. He said sure and I asked if it would be OK if I could record a short video of him giving a message to my college students for the classes I teach. He looked at me and said something along the lines of, "Wow! You got me on the spot."
He was very cool about the idea and so here it is. It's about 25 seconds long.

Theus and I talked a little more about what I teach and I told him I help assist college students with their academic and career planning. I told him about how I was a two-time college drop out (I can proudly say that now) but got to live my dream of being a sports writer when I interned with KHTK. Once I told him that he asked if we could do another video since he knew more about me. I was shocked that he wanted to do another video because I never expected him to want to do another video.
He asked if he could finish meeting with others in line and once the line died down to come back to him for the second video.
Well, when that happened a woman walked up to me and told me Theus was not supposed to make that video due to contractual obligations, but I could still keep the original video and use it to show to my students.
Theus was still willing to do the video but couldn't. Oh well.
I doubt he will ever read this, but if word ever does get back to him...
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING COACH THEUS!!! I APPRECIATED WHAT YOU DID FOR MY STUDENTS!!!
I highly encourage everyone to go out and meet Theus when you get a chance.
