Reggie Theus in Roseville

I was wondering if anyone else attended the Reggie Theus appearance in Roseville.

My fiancée Monica and I made the drive to Roseville to meet Theus. I would say about 25 to 30 people showed up.

Theus was very, very friendly and approachable. He signed a jersey and basketball for us and took pictures with us (twice to make sure they came out good).

I asked Theus for a small favor. He said sure and I asked if it would be OK if I could record a short video of him giving a message to my college students for the classes I teach. He looked at me and said something along the lines of, "Wow! You got me on the spot."

He was very cool about the idea and so here it is. It's about 25 seconds long.

Theus and I talked a little more about what I teach and I told him I help assist college students with their academic and career planning. I told him about how I was a two-time college drop out (I can proudly say that now) but got to live my dream of being a sports writer when I interned with KHTK. Once I told him that he asked if we could do another video since he knew more about me. I was shocked that he wanted to do another video because I never expected him to want to do another video.

He asked if he could finish meeting with others in line and once the line died down to come back to him for the second video.

Well, when that happened a woman walked up to me and told me Theus was not supposed to make that video due to contractual obligations, but I could still keep the original video and use it to show to my students.

Theus was still willing to do the video but couldn't. Oh well.

I doubt he will ever read this, but if word ever does get back to him...

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING COACH THEUS!!! I APPRECIATED WHAT YOU DID FOR MY STUDENTS!!!

I highly encourage everyone to go out and meet Theus when you get a chance.

I have to say that's something you would never see Adelman do (at least not with as much class).
That's just not fair. Adelman is a class act, he's just a quiet, humble and introverted person. Theus is just the opposite, with a very extroverted personality and he loves the spotlight. Different personalities, but both class guys.

Theus is

I really am glad we did get Theus as coach. Last year when I saw him coaching for New Mexico, and that speech he gave to the students before the NCAA tourney was just amazing. When his name came up as a possible coach of the Kings I was pretty damn happy. Theus just oozes charisma.

Exactly. Adelman was always very nice when I had the opportunity to talk with him, he just wasnt the most outgoing of folks, thats all. That's what they had Coachie for.:D

I really wanted to go but couldnt. if somebody did not have anythign to sign, was there something on his table that he could sign right there and then? Because I found about it yesterday and I did not have anything to sign.

It was really short notice and I wanted to go buy a jersey and that would have been awesome. I am really mad I could not go. Hopefully he will do another autograph session.

I wasn't calling out Adelman. Of course he was a class act and a very nice guy. He just wasn't gifted with Reggie's charisma. I was not intending to put Adelman down, I'm just pointing out the differences in the men.

Reggie seems like a really awesome guy. It was really cool of him to do that video for you..I wish I knew he was doing this signing but I never heard about it.
