lack of talent

A team with Bonzi Wells, Mike Bibby, Kenny Thomas, Mike Bibby, Ron Artest, Brad Miller, Kevin Martin, and Francisco Garcia is a team with LACK OF TALENT? Now perhaps lack of cohesion, or the pieces don't fit, but lack of talent, I just don't see it.

lack of talent is individual, and theres enough of that.

lack of cohesion or pieces dont fit, well thats the coach.

Spurs and Pistons are actually good teams.

We haven't seen this in a while, but this is still fairly clasic bad team stuff, and esepcially bad Kings teams stuff. Play well at home, crappy on the road. Only the worst teams play poorly at home too.

I don't think it has to do with how good the team is. There are teams that give decent showings on the road and just aren't good enough and then there are teams like the Kings that're good enough to win some road games but they come out flat and stay flat for 3 quarters and do it several times in the same month. They don't even give themselves a chance. There are certain coaches who won't let that fly and there are others who scratch their heads and wonder if their team will come out and do the little things that keep the team in the game.

Bad teams do not win on the road. Even mediocre teams really don't win on the road. The grand total of teams with winning records ont eh road right now is Detroit, Miami, Phoenix, Dallas and San Antonio. Which pretty much sums up your title contenders. Meanwhile there are a total of 4 teams in the NBA significantly below .500 at home. Houston, Charlotte and Atlanta. EVERYBODY wins at home. Its the easy part. We've got a bigger homecouort edge with our crowd, but that doesn't make our good at home bad on the road team much different than any other bad/middling team out there.

Great reasoning...dismantle a talented squad and make them mediocre talent wise, then fire the coach because his team is playing mediocre.

On paper this team runs circles around the best team we EVER had talent wise. That team had what all great teams have, that IT factor.

Oh that's not even close to being true.

But to be sure the gap between our best talent team (02-03) and this team is greater in the standings than it is in talent.

Just based on individual talent level. Dude, you're not factoring in the "Vitaly Potapenko effect".

Vlade >= Brad
Webb >> SAR
Peja < Artest
Doug = Bonzi
Bibby = Bibby

Bobby >> Martin (until further developments)
JJ >> Garcia (until further developments)
Keon > Thomas
Hedo > Corliss
Pollard > Potapenko
Wallace >> Monia
Jones >> Price

Man, you HAD to bring out the nifty >, <, and = stuff. Shucks, I can't compete with that.

But for sake of argument, just on talent level, and what not. I would have to say that Doug < Bonzi.
