Ratliff to Kings for Big Nasty+OTag?

id do it..... only if martin or garcia can average atleast 15 ppg or peja averages 30. because we would be getting absolutely no offense from the center position with theo and skinner.... we'd get a combined 15 points....

Better question is who would be stupid enough to take on that AWSOME contract? Theo is a good player but no one person is the answer to our defensive problems, the problems will still be there, just with a little masking tape holding it together. Any defensive improvements must begin from within the current deligation.

A major shotblocker, more than any other single piece, can help make EVERYBODY else on the floor look like a better defender. Every good defense needs a captain -- getting D.C. (and to a lesser degree Bobby) transformed us from pathetic defensive weaklings into a formidable defensive force.

I believe Swift is signing with the Rockets, and he doesn't block nearly as many shots.

He may not block as many shots but then he may not be challenged as much either. Think of it this way...how many NFL cornerbacks that have just one big year of interceptions are challenged enough in the future to lead the league in interceptions again? Doesn't happen because they are avoided by the offense.

Swift is also a considerably better rounded player and would be playing next to a certain 7'5" giant who's goign to get quite a few himself.

Again, a move to get Theo looks a little desperate, but its a bleedover from having Brad Miller and Peja Stojakovic as the other two people on the frontline. Maybe you decide to go for an extreme patch for an extreme hole.

ratliff would help our D, but at that price??? ehhh. and if we were going to pawn someone off, i'd rather pawn off kenny thomas ( contract reasons)

Sry, I wasn't aware of his contract situation. I still feel that Theo is a very very good center. Even at his age, he brings alot to the table. And concidering who is being concidered as the trade fodder, I say why not? :)
