Ramon Sessions

G-League
Minn is trying unload his 4yr/16 mil salary. He was a hot commodity last off-season after tearing it up for the Bucks the latter part of that season. Is he better than other options on FA market?

To put it bluntly, No. No not at all.

There's a reason Minnesota (which isn't Boston or anything) is trying to unload him and I don't think we want him for that much money.

minn has a bad habit of letting good players go. Beno turned out to be a pretty good pick up. didn't they do a draft night trade of rudy gay for randy foye. Lets not forget traded KG then they sing money into Darko. I don't know maybe we should take Sessions.

Brandon Roy, even worse.

Unless he forgot how to do the things he can do, then he seems to be of a better value than many of the PG/Combo guards out there. There really isn't much in that department in Free Agency this year. 4 million a year isn't that big of a contract.

If he really is up for sale, then my guess is he doesn't get traded until near the trade deadline. Teams will be looking for guys like him and an extra big around that time. As for us, it will give the team time to evaluate walk-ons and Cisco, to see if the team needs a better solution. My guess is they will.

He brings things to the table but it's just not anything we need

he's a horrible horrible defender... He really provides nothing that Beno doesn't except for slightly better play making ability

only if al jefferson comes along with him. the wolves are trying to trade jefferson to the mavs for dampier's expiring contract but the mavs won't bite. so if the wolves want to ship big al and sessions to the kings for dalembert's expiring and thompson or landry i wouldn't be against it. although odds are that won't happen. really the only way the kings can attract players to come to sactown is through trades

As much as I like Jefferson and Sessions, why would the Kings make such a deal? Neither fit into what the Kings are trying to do right now. And one of those things is to retain cap space for the next offseason. The other thing is become tougher defensively. Cousins is our center of the future and I don't think you could play them together on the floor at the same time. It would be the same problem Minny has with Love and Jefferson. As for Sessions, I would have loved to pick him up two years ago. But now we have no need for him.

doesn't really matter how much cap space we have because no one is going to come to sactown unless the franchise severely overpays. although you're right about jefferson and cousins both having the same position and style. their games would probably conflict with one another

If we want to keep the players we have then we must retain cap space. Not go make a deal for Al Jefferson.

Winning cures a lot of things in the NBA. Getting big name FAs to come to Sac will always be a problem, but 2nd tier players are much easier to get if we start winning. During the Kings good years, they never had trouble getting FAs consider them and come to town.

Carmelo Anthony to SAC 2011!

Sessions would not fit our team, and we certainly would not want any part of him on that contract. He is ball dominant, can't shoot or play off the ball, so that makes him an impossible pairing with Reke, who figures to play 35-40 min a night.

Last summer before we had a PG he was discussed and the idea of putting him next to Kevin might have worked...offensively. Defnsively it would have been worst in the league. But now with the ROY at PG, and Beno having the bonceback year as well, you are talking about a 4yr $16mil 3rd string PG who doesn't fit next to our best player and eats our caproom for next summer which we seem dedicated to preserving.

Let Kahn choke on his silly mistakes.

The T-Wolves could have substituted Sessions for Ryan Gnomes in that trade to Portland. They could have traded the #4 + Session to the Kings for #5 or even to the Warriors at #6 and still be able to pick Johnson. If Khan just want to dump Session, there were ample opportunities to do so before the draft.

Which tells me either Khan doesn't know what the hell he's doing or he's looking for more than just a salary dump. I'm leaning towards the former.

But the Kings and Sessions is not a good fit. Sessions don't want to be a third string PG and the Kings don't want to pay too much for one.
