Question about the Game last night.

At the end of the game all the players waited around on the court as if they were going to make an announcement and at that moment the public announcer seemed to just blow them off.

What's up with that?

The players were gonna thank the fans and all that, but by the time the game ended everybody was either gone or on the way out the doors.

I made a joke about it in the game thread, but my guess is that they just skipped the announcement when they saw how quickly the seats were emptied after the game. Two seconds after the final buzzer and the crowd was gone.

You noticed that too? That was kind of embarrassing -- the crowd was loud at times...those times directly corresponding to when they were being goosed with bribe gifts. Place was a tomb otherwise.

No, it didn't sicken me at all. It was "Fan Appreciation Night." The fact people shelled out good money for the final game is a tribute to the fans and I'm glad the Kings organization at least gave them something to cheer about and possibly leave Arco feeling good, despite another loss...

I'm tired of dumping on the people who spend their hard-earned money just to get into the game. If they didn't see anything on the court worth really cheering about, whose fault is that? Our team sucks. Period. A few flashes of non-sucking don't make up for an abysmal season. And, as has been pointed out numerous times before, it's not just that we sucked. It's that for the most part the only thing some of the vets shared was a lack of focus or effort. But people still came. They wanted to be able to cheer but it's truly a symbiotic relationship.

Arco Thunder is still there. I heard it during the Jazz game. I saw it when Ronnie Price lit up the crowd and appeared on Sports Center. Give the fans something/anything to make them feel good about this team we love, and they'll respond.

I personally like to stay untill they make me leave(which is usually 15 minutes after the game), i would rather sit there confortble then fight that craziness outside.

i guess the crowd even the city and fans have gotten so used to winning (8 straight winning/playoff seasons) that losing... well sucks bigtime... even for fans who have supported the team before the c-webb/j-will/bibby era... nobody wants to go back to those days....

ive never been a fan when this team sucked hard, its kinda hard but im always hopeful....

Every game I went to seemed like that, save one or two. At least this time they were getting more than plastic balls and t-shirts.

I don't think they knew the players were going to speak to them. And, quite frankly, I question the logic that would assume the fans would want to stick around after the final loss in a losing season and have the players thank them. Smacks of the same "genius" planning who was responsible for the big 6, IMHO.
