Oh egads, I see Gavin sitting there at the mike, do I really want to click that link?![]()
Not unless you want to hear that the reason for the Brockman pick was Spencer's lobbying skill.
Gavin... never play poker.

Much ado about nothing, IMHO. It's a #38 pick. If it gives us a body to use against our promising guards in training camp, it's a plus.

No, its an asset. Another piece and a chance to take an opportunity to find a gem. Unfortunately, your mentality seems to be the one that Geoff shares which is why our 2nd round choices seem like such WTF selections. Will it change the future of the team? Probably not. Most 2nd rounders don't. But when you are as bad and directionless as we are, it seems silly to waste it on a "practice player.
sdballer - You're assuming he won't work out. I'm saying at the least he's a body to use in training camp but I suspect he might end up being better. But bottom line is, as you pointed out yourself, most second rounders don't do much...
Doesn't mean you should just give up 2nd round picks. There's usually a handful of useful NBA players in the 2nd round. You can get bodies for camp anywhere. You should never give up on trying to get the BPA, especially in the 2nd round.
also Jon went about where all the "draft experts" thought he'd go. All the buzz i've heard or read around the league is that everyone likes the pick (the experts that is)
Jon was going to play pro in europe... I think his a solid more mobile Shelden Williams type... He looks to be quicker then Ike also... Never hurts to have a fairly paid big that hustles and can provide some fouls to give.
How about a fairly paid not really very big who does nothing but foul because he can't defend anybody at this level?
If Brockman could defend an NBA caliber big, this would be a different conversation. Then maybe he'd be Animal Smith or Chuck Hayes.
He's 6'7" and fairly groudbound -- no way can he be a Pollard. He'll never be able to guard a 7'0" tall center or close down the lane. He's got be be one of the undersized pure PF scrappers, but thing is most of them marry defense to their rebounding.I am hoping his ceiling is Scot Pollard.
My guess is it takes a little longer than 24 hours to arrange a trip to the US. He didn't know which team - if any - was going to draft him so it's not like he could book the flight ahead of time. I think I remember hearing something about him getting here in the next day or two.
LOL!!!! IM TIRED OF GETTIN PUSHED AROUND!!! IM NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!
whew that was too funny! good call brick!
I didn't click the link but did he really say that again? Good god Maloof..
