Preseason Stats (Thus Far)

Below are the per36 preseason stats from the first 4 games. Thought I would post it for reference.

Wow. Just wow. Without anyone needing to lecture us on how "this is ONLY 4 games, and one was not even against an NBA team," I have to say that I'm surprised at how several of our guys are doing. Wenyen is all over the rebounds! Unfortunately his offense is not much more than put-backs right now. Frank Mason doesn't pass the eye test, but his stats tell a different story. Willie is getting it done, folks. I may have called for his head recently, but I have to admit that he's picked up his game. Ben is the same old Ben. No difference between the eye test and the stats. His whole career he's been the guy who shoots 60% in practice and 40% in real games. Giles and Bagley are doing surprisingly well at this point. Yeah boy!

So basically the one thing I can gleam from this is Frank Mason is the greatest offensive player in the history of basketball.

I like Bagley’s free throw percentage which is an improvement over college.

Could Frank Mason be Isaiah Thomas part II?

Someone that everyone sleeps on because of his size???

Can Frank Mason be a scoring machine, if the right coach just believes in him, like Brad Stevens did for IT? He does have a chip on his shoulder, like IT did. Frank is a real bull dog. He can score like crazy, but not a real floor general. He's pesky on defense, but not a defensive stopper. Same size, but Frank has 3 inches on IT.

Maybe we can get that "Mini-Backcourt" of Fox and Mason to wreak havoc on the NBA??? We would have one of the quickest back courts in the NBA with those two.

C: WCS/ Skal/ KK
PG/SG: Fox / Buddy (6th Man) / BMac
PG: Mason / Yogi

Sarcasam noted, however I will stand by my hope that while he will likely never be the guy you want runing the offense for long streaches, he may just be a great Vinny Johnson/Bobby Jackson type PG who give you energy and instant offense off the bench.

Unless Frank takes an absolutely massive leap this season (and I mean massive), he's not even in the same realm as IT was as a scorer.
