So, who you got?

I think it will be fun to see who gets it right about what the Kings will ultimately do on draft night. We are just 4 days away from the biggest night for the Kings in the last decade.

What is your prediction for what the Kings will do with the #2 pick of the 2018 NBA draft?

I say Doncic. My other prediction is that regardless of who the Kings take or what they do, a sizable portion of this board will find fault with Vlade. He should have taken Doncic, he should have taken Porter, he should have taken JJJ, he should have traded for Kawhi, he should have traded up to get Ayton, he should have traded down, he should have traded to add the #4 pick, etc... I am prepared that many will be in FULL meltdown mode regardless of what we do.

I agree with the premise but disagree with "sizable portion of this board". Replace "sizable" with "vocal" and you've got a good point. :)

I think the Kings are big on Porter as they see him as the missing piece surrounding their young talent.

If his medicals don't check out or the risk seems too high I believe the Kings will be the team that trades down with Philly for the 10th pick if Saric is offered in the package. Kings will then select between Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges and Kevin Knox depending who is left on the table.

Philly will need a high pick to get Kawhi in a trade and will have to give up Covington along with the #2 to get him.

Spurs will take Doncic at #2 as they've had the best record with international talent and desperately need a replacement for Parker and with Covington get a slight upgrade on Green as his productively has decreased from year to year.

I’m scared of Euros I’m scared of injuries and scared of former Duke players lol. But I don’t like any of the other choices. My choices are way down the list. Colin Sexton and Mikal Bridges. Luka scared me the least but he comes with a cap on potential in my eyes. I think he will be a solid starter for years. I don’t think he ever sniffs All Star. Kinda like a mike Bibby. Big role good at it but so many better than he at SF

I voted Doncic but the one thing that throws me is bringing back Carter a second time. Only thing I can think of is a trade down potential or a deal where we get mid to late lotto pick.

I picked a trade down because I just have a feeling they aren't sold on any one player, there are evident risks with each of their top five, and the pressure is great. If some team wants to bail them out by diluting that risk with another pick, they'll jump at it, imo.:) I doubt they would trade down more than one or two slots though.

I'm very suspicious... The Kings have, at the very least, been mentioned with every top big man, except one. That particular one could end up being the best of the group. He's the only one that has shown the ability to play on both sides of the court. His block rate is better than Bamba's, and he showed he can shoot around 40% from the three. Yes, I'm talking about Jaren Jackson, and yet, not a peep about him from the Kings. Not even a mention. They interviewed Bamba at the combine. They just brought in Carter for a interview. They interviewed Ayton at the combine. but nothing about a player that many scouts think is the 2nd or 3rd best player in the draft.

Maybe I'm making more out of this than it is, but don't you find that a wee bit suspicious? Of course if he's the player they want, there's no need for deception. Just go draft him at two. But, if you have a plan to trade down, and then take Jackson, it makes some sense. You certainly wouldn't want to let anyone know where your interests lie. I have no inside information and I'm probably out in left field somewhere, which means I'm lost because I was a center fielder when I played. But you just have to wonder why they wouldn't at least take a look at a player that fits today's NBA extremely well, and is one of the youngest players in the draft. He's a year younger than Bamba.

He or his agent doesn’t want to work out here?

I'm going to stick my neck out and boldly predict there's a definite possibility of a firm maybe that we pick Doncic.

I'm 60-40 it'll be Doncic over MPJ, but wouldn't be totally surprised to be wrong. MPJ has the potential to be a star, and I know that has to be tempting, especially if Vivek is wearing his Golden State underoos on a given day, but I believe Vlade values ball movement and team basketball over a superstar with supporting players. If that's true, Doncic is our guy. MPJ may be a star and his talent is undeniable, but "ball sharing" is not a term we hear to describe him all that often.

We already have a JJackson. I think they're worried about jersey name confusion.
